At Blackwood Primary School we pride ourselves on the broad curriculum which we offer to all our pupils, the pastoral care we provide and the feeling of community which exists within our school. We know parents want the best education for their child, but they also want them to be happy and to feel safe and secure in School.
Our school is located a short distance from Blackwood Town Centre, which is known as the Islwyn region within Caerphilly CBC. The school is a 3-11 English medium community primary school and currently accommodates over 450 pupils.
The school opened in 2001 when Blackwood Juniors and Blackwood Infants amalgamated on the same site. The building is of a modern design with two multi-purpose halls, outdoor classroom, Nursery, Library and Two classrooms per year group all equipped with everything a child needs to learn, develop and progress through the Primary curriculum. Both Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2 pupils enjoy large playground areas, marked with a variety of playground games.
Families who are considering sending their children to Blackwood Primary are encouraged to visit the school to see for themselves all that we have to offer. Please do not hesitate to contact the school for any further information or to arrange a school visit.
