This scholarship has been provided by Tasmanian Alkaloids to mark the retirement of their managing director, Brian Hartnett, in 2009. Brian is passionate about the importance of science education and the need for quality teaching in the discipline. He established the generous Tasmanian Alkaloids scholarship program at the University of Tasmania.

Available to a graduate in the sciences from northern Tasmania who is undertaking the Master of Teaching in Semester 1, 2021 with the view to becoming a science teacher in Tasmania.
