Brimsdown is a community mixed Primary and Nursery School taking children from 3-11 years. We have an Additional Resource Base – HIRBiE – For the hearing impaired. Admission to the Nursery and the Main School are subject to separate applications and criteria, more details are included in the admissions section.

Brimsdown is a happy, vibrant, inclusive school set in beautiful grounds where children can develop into independent learners. At present we have the capacity to take on 630 children on roll with an additional 60 children in the nursery. We offer 30 hours as per the Enfield criteria. The children are grouped according to age. When the children start in Reception, those children transferring from the nursery classes are split as a group between the three reception classes and new children are welcomed to the new groups. In KS2 we have smaller class sizes, splitting our 90 children into 4 classes. Classes are mixed sometimes for the new school year so we can ensure that classes are balanced with regard to gender and ability.

We believe that every child is unique and we aim to nurture and inspire them in a safe, secure and stimulating environment. We are committed to giving each child the best education, creating a love of learning and a curiosity about the world around it. We hold an inclusive ethos and teach all children at the school British Sign Language.

We value parent’s contributions and hope that the partnership between home and school will provide a strong foundation for all pupils to grow and develop to their full potential.

We aim to produce responsible, caring, respectful and aspirational young people of whom we can all be proud.

At Brimsdown Primary School we take our responsibility to prepare children for life in modern Britain very seriously. We ensure that the fundamental British Values are introduced, discussed and lived out through the ethos and work of the school. All curriculum areas provide a vehicle for furthering understanding of these concepts and, in particular, our RE and PSHE lessons provide excellent opportunities to deepen and develop understanding. Children embrace these concepts with enthusiasm and demonstrate a good understanding of their application to their own lives.

The school makes considerable efforts to ensure children have exposure to a wide experience beyond their local community during which these concepts are shown, through for example, sporting events and a range of visits. Their strong rooted Values-based understanding gives them an excellent platform for embracing difference. school office if you need us to print any section of the website for you.

Pupils learn in a calm and caring environment. Leaders recognise that pupils benefit from consistency and stability, and this is seen across the school. This means that pupils have very clear routines, and they develop strong habits for learning from the very start of their time in school. Pupils behave exceptionally well around the school.
