Welcome to BIK Hannam, and thank you for considering us for your child.British education has long been seen as the global leader in academic excellence, particularly at university level. Crucially, however, the British approach understands that children begin to learn from birth and so has developed its curriculum for young learners to be engaging, challenging and above all rewarding.

BIK prepares students to the highest academic standards and aims to inspire respect, creativity, independence, dignity and self-esteem. This is achieved through an approach largely inspired by the British National Curriculum.BIK Education places a strong emphasis on the expertise of the professionals delivering lessons, so it is fitting that my team of educators are highly qualified and highly knowledgeable in the field of early childhood education as well as the international education experience.

Since 2006 we have served an expatriate and Korean community of children from the ages of two to seven years, comprising over thirty nationalities.BIK was founded by Kevin McNeany, chairman of Orbital Education which has established and run independent schools in the UK and schools around the world. We provide the same education as prestigious independent kindergartens in the UK utilizing the British National Curriculum.

At BIK we believe that creating positive childhood memories for our students is as equally important as building solid educational foundations for future development. Our students’ educational experience is stimulating and challenging, and in these vital years above all it is achieved in an environment that is happy and secure.

BIK is located near the UN village, a residential area popular with the International Community in Seoul.BIK has been constructed with the needs of our curriculum in mind. It has the full range of facilities needed for 2~7 year olds: art room, indoor activity room, space for outdoor play, library, assembly hall and spacious airy classrooms.

BIK Hannam offers a unique education to young learners from age 2-7. The emphasis is very much on learning through immersive, child-centred activity, incorporating play and social interaction.BIK Hannam respects that children learn differently and at different paces. Emphasis is put on ensuring students’ experiences correspond to their unique academic needs. This of course has to reflect their physical and social-emotional development as well as their educational development.BIK students progress through five years of study through many interconnecting areas of learning.

BIK Hannam not only educates students to high academic standards, but also nurtures them to be confident and considerate global citizens. Everything our young people do is achieved through the medium of English and is aimed at developing academically successful, emotionally mature and well-rounded individuals.Graduates of BIK are well equipped for the new challenges that come on the next step of their educational journey. Self-esteem allows children to face life with more confidence and optimism.BIK teachers are positive role models and seek to maintain a very positive atmosphere in the classroom. Teachers seek opportunities to give praise when their students choose to do ‘the right thing’.Independence is a requirement for leading one’s life with the confidence to govern oneself.At BIK we don’t say that adults are the only positive role-models; we encourage our students to be leaders in the student body and show each other the ‘right thing to do’.We promote children’s self-esteem within the context of making their own positive and correct decisions.We are living in a world which demands that leaders are creative problem solvers.BIK students participate in daily curricular activities to foster their creativity. Students are given opportunities that guarantee creative expression, with constant encouragement to let their personalities and instincts shine through.With over 20 different cultures and backgrounds at BIK, diversity provides a lesson to be comfortable with and open to those things that distinguish.Giving to and sharing with others are important virtues of a global leader. Through a fraternal relationship with both the Green Umbrella Childfund and the Myongdo Welfare Centre, BIK Students learn what giving and sharing are and put them into practice. With such education, our children learn to understand various kinds of people in the world.
