The safety of your children is very important to us. There will be seats provided for parents, it is important that you remain inside the allocated areas at all times. As the Leisure Centre is a council run facility no photos or videos are permitted to be taken inside the building.

Children may come to school dressed in their Welsh Costume on Wednesday 14th February as a photographer will be visiting the school to take photographs of the children in their Welsh Costumes, which will be published in the Gwent Gazette at a later date. Our ‘Welsh week’ will take place after the half term the children will be able to wear their Welsh Costumes again on the Thursday 1st March.

Bryngwyn Road Campus’ Criw Cymraeg is made up of pupils from years 2 to 6 who are enthusiastic about promoting Welsh in our school. They help other pupils to understand and use Welsh throughout the day.

The pupils in Criw Cymraeg are responsible for:

  • Contributing to school assemblies
  • Encouraging and showing other pupils how to play Welsh games on the yard at break times
  • Teaching the Welsh phrase of the week
  • Promoting Welsh throughout their classes and school

Criw Cymraeg meet regularly at lunchtimes and are currently working towards achieving a bronze award in a language charter ‘Cymraeg Campus’ which promotes and increases the use of Welsh. The award involves participation from all pupils and staff members.
