Hello! My name is Omar and I am in Year 6 at Aspen Heights British School. I joined in September 2018 and I am writing to tell you my amazing success story. Through my journey so far, I have accomplished many things that prove you can achieve whatever you wish to.
In school, I have many roles, including being part of the school council team. With my fellow student councillors, we have succeeded in making our school an even better place in many ways. One of my favourite events that we organised was the charity Pink Day Sale where we raised 6500 AED. We had several stalls organised by the students in our school. These stalls included games, challenges, and many cool items to buy.
I am a strong role model for our school and I am often chosen to guide visitors and welcome them. I explain to visitors about the learning that happens at our school and about all our magnificent facilities.
In preparation for National Day last year, my class used brush strokes to create awesome paintings which I suggested that we could auction off in order to raise money for charity. I was the top salesperson as I used my strong negotiation skills. A painting I was selling for 20 AED was bought for 200 AED!
Another successful event that we decided to do was a Fitness Roadshow, where I helped to organise many incredible activities that grabbed people’s attention and motivated them to show the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
Recently, on our Islamic Studies trip to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, I led the prayer in honour of Sheikh Zayed. Members of my school took part in the prayer as well as other members of the community. I felt particularly proud and honoured to lead the prayers.

During the winter holiday, I organised a stall sale that took place in Al Shahama Park. There, I managed to raise 525 AED and made a profit of 420 AED. I always feel extremely appreciative to be able to raise money for charitable events as I enjoy helping others.
Alongside my uncle, I try to motivate and encourage people to learn the skills in Dhow boat sailing. There are many skills involved with sailing and it took me more than three years to gain the right amount of experience to then teach others. I am very proud of this achievement!
I always aspire to be the best citizen that I can be and I am consistently inspired by others. It is important to me to learn from other people and be ambitious in everything I do, as I want to be a good role model and encourage everyone to achieve their goals.

I taught Omar in Grade 2 and I always knew he was destined for great things. It sounds like Aspen Heights is a fantastic school which is providing many opportunities for students like Omar to succeed. Well done, Omar.
