At CPotential we provide life-changing learning for children and adults with cerebral palsy and other movement disorders. With Conductive Education at our core, we offer a range of services to help individuals grow in confidence, skills and independence. Everyone has potential to learn – we’re here to make that happen.

With Conductive Education at our core, we offer Early Intervention and other services to help disabled children grow in confidence and skills so that they can achieve their potential and live as independently as possible now and in the future.

We work with babies, children and young people aged up to 18 who have movement disorders due to conditions such as cerebral palsy, global development delay or acquired brain injury. We can also help children and adults with other conditions or disabilities.

We offer a range of Early Intervention and Sessional Services to meet the needs of children with different abilities. By addressing needs as early as possible we can help your child gain the vital skills they need as they grow older.

We use the principles of Conductive Education as part of a holistic approach including speech and language therapy and music therapy to help each child:

  • Develop their mobility, movement, sensory, communication, emotional, problem-solving and self-help skills
  • Take an active part in the learning process.

We also offer free Mollii assessments for children and adults. The Mollii suit is an innovative assistive device that helps relieve spasticity and improve muscle control for people with neurological conditions. We run our own Department for Education-approved independent primary school and nursery class for children aged 3-11 who have movement disorders due to conditions such as cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury or global development delay. The school is rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted (February 2017).

We provide support and information for parents and carers and offer a friendly, positive place where you can share ideas and concerns. We also produce our own videos with expert advice on topics such as clinical negligence claims, music therapy, speech and language therapy and making SEN Appeals. We strongly encourage parents and carers to come and take part in the sessions with their children. In this way, you can understand how your child learns and gain the skills and confidence to continue the learning at home.

We offer a fun, flexible approach using evidence-based approaches that empower your child and you as their communication partner.

We aim to develop each child’s ability to communicate whether they use body movements, vocalisations, speech, sign language, low tech aids such as objects of reference and communication books, or high tech communication aids such as switches and eye gaze technology. We also have a multi-sensory room, a range of high-tech equipment such as Soundbeam and Eye Gaze technology and, depending on your child’s communication needs, can work with other clinical professionals.
