Cairo has numerous public schools, private schools, and international schools. Thus, a higher emphasis was given to the public education system in Cairo and Egypt as a whole.
The Ministry of Education oversees the education system in Cairo. Similarly, it is the government entity which approves the increase of school fees in Cairo. the approved increase in tuition fees ranged from 7-25%, depending on the type of school and the existing implemented fees.
