Calverton Primary School is a co-educational community primary school, which caters for children aged 3-11 years. We are a two- form entry school with a maximum number of 60 in each year group. Our classes are taught in mixed ability groups. Additionally, our school has a resource provision for children with autistic spectrum disorder. There are 14 places for children with ASD across the school.
We believe that our school should provide a caring, positive safe and stimulating environment which promotes the social, emotional, physical and moral development of the individual child.
At Calverton Primary School we are very proud to be a culturally diverse and fully inclusive school that is committed to ensuring we aspire to and achieve our motto of ‘Every Child, Every Chance, Every Day’.
We aim to
If your child requires any form of medication during the school day then you must discuss this with the office staff. We have arrangements in place for storing children’s inhalers giving access as and when necessary. As children become older we encourage them to take responsibility for their own well-being and self administer their inhalers.
If your child becomes unwell at school or has an accident we will contact you by telephone. Please ensure that we always have an up to date telephone number for you and inform us of any change of address. It is also important that we have an alternative telephone number of a relative, close friend/ neighbour, childminder, in case we have any difficulty in contacting you.
We strive to ensure that our children enjoy all aspects of school life. If at any time you have a concern, first of all please see your child’s class teacher. He/she is usually available in the playground for a brief chat at the beginning of the day and will give you longer if you make an appointment. We hope to resolve any issues as quickly as possible. We hold two Parents’ Evenings and one Achievement Evening each year. It is your opportunity to talk to your child’s class teacher about your child’s progress and to look at their books. It is really important that you attend these meetings, so that we form a close partnership and by working closely together, promote your child’s learning and well-being.
At Calverton we have the highest expectations for behaviour and we actively promote our Positive Behaviour and Anti-Bullying Policy. Every child in the school is in a team and they can earn points for their team. Each term the team with the most points will be rewarded with a treat.
The school will ensure your child’s physical and social well being at all times, and to foster feelings of confidence, self-worth and belonging. We deliver a balanced and carefully planned curriculum which meets the needs of your individual child. We ensure that all teaching staff keep upto date on important educational developments and initiatives which might effect your child, and to inform you of these at given meetings where appropriate. We provide a range of after school extracurricular activities designed to enrich your child’s experience.

A hidden gem! As a Governor at Calverton I see and hear just how much the kids love their school and am always impressed with the interaction between teachers, parents and students. My daughter loves attending the school and is doing well. Highly recommended!
