Catholic High School

Founded in 1894 by the religious order of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, Catholic High School continues today as an independent, Catholic, all-male college preparatory high school accredited by the Quality Assurance Review Team from Advanced/Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). As indicated in its mission statement, Catholic High School strives to teach gospel values in an environment of academic excellence according to Catholic tradition and the spirit of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart. Designated as a National School of Excellence in 1989, 1993, 1998, 2003 and 2014 by the U.S. Department of Education, the school celebrates 124 years of operation with a current population of 1,114 students in grades 8-12. The faculty consists of 99 members: 45 bachelor’s, 49 master’s and 5 doctoral degrees.

The mission of Catholic High School is to teach Gospel values in an environment of academic excellence according to Catholic tradition and the spirit of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart. Through the philosophy, admission policies, curriculum, and facilities, Catholic High School strives to create an atmosphere for learning and growth. Such an atmosphere provides each student an opportunity to realize his potential and to develop healthy attitudes and responsible behavior that will permit him to pursue continued studies and to assume his place in society as a concerned Christian gentleman.
