Abu Dhabi, UAE: As expected, girls topped in the CBSE exam in most of the schools in Abu Dhabi.
However, there was a twist in the tale when Abu Dhabi Indian School (ADIS) results were released. Two boys – Shreyanth Thiyagarajan and Adithya Rajan Rao – scored top marks with 97.8 percent. Two girls – Anjana Raju and Sunaina Sunil – followed with 97.4 percent. School principal Neeraj Bhargava hailed the results as “wonderful”.
“We have the best results in Abu Dhabi. This is the result of great effort put in by teachers and of course, the students.”
Adis, with a total of 423 students, had 26 pupils getting more than 95 percent and some 86 students with more than 90 percent. As many as 11 students got full marks: mathematics (4), social science (3), Arabic CBSE (2), science (1) and French (1).
Meanwhile, Private International English School (Bhavans) Abu Dhabi again showcased a perfect 100 percent results. It was girl power to the fore as Malavika Manoj and Deepakshi Devkaran topped the school with 96.2 percent. In social science, six students – Abdul Hafeez Galib, Aditya Jino, Barargvaraja, Bretwin K Rego, Saajid Meeran and Steeve Shaji – scored 100 marks. Abdul Galib also scored 100 in mathematics.
St Joseph’s School had a 100 per-cent result and out of 117 students who appeared for the exams, 40 got more than 90 percent.
Indian School Al Ain also got 100 percent. The school had 18 out of 90 students scoring more than 90 percent. Ritika Haridas topped the school with 96 percent followed by Jerin Ann James (95 percent) and Lalitha Sankar (94.6 percent).
The Model School Abu Dhabi had all of its 69 students qualify for higher studies. “Eight students got more than 90 percent marks and the school average score is 80 percent,” principal Dr VV Abdul Kader said. Dunes International School, with its first batch appearing for exams, also scored a 100 percent result.
