Since 1994, Century Private School has offered a safe, pleasant, and nurturing environment for students from Montessori preschool to high school. We are dedicated in providing first-class education to embrace the vision of our students achieving excellence through their experience at Century Private School.

The Montessori Preschool, Kindergarten and Elementary campus, co-founded in 1994, is now located in the Loyal True Blue and Orange Home in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Century Private School is home to students from the preschool level (2 1/2 years) to grade twelve. Century is housed in a historic landmark (circa 1922), rich in tradition and connections to the Town of Richmond Hill. Our updated facility boasts bright classrooms, small class sizes, and an integrated and enriched curriculum encompassing the Montessori method of education up to age six (6), followed by an enriched version of the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum, to grade twelve (12).

The foundation of learning at Century Private School is built on three pillars – Leadership, Character Development and Community Service. Our elementary students enjoy a large playground with areas specifically designed for children, always putting their safety first. Secondary students have access to a variety of outdoor sports and activities including, three soccer fields and a basketball court.

​A supervised homework program is available at the end of the school day for all elementary and secondary students who wish to achieve excellence in their studies. This, in addition to a variety of extra-curricular activities, gives our students opportunities for social interaction and building lifelong friendships.

The goal of the Preschool program is the development of the whole child. We strive to develop their self-esteem and cultivate their natural desire to learn. We encourage learning through discovery to facilitate a deeper understanding and application of knowledge. Our personalized curriculum and individualized instruction facilitates success in the academically rich environment, while maintaining social and peer relationships. Within each classroom, students work at their own ability for each subject. Learning strategies are level appropriate for advanced studies and reinforcement.

Children under six have an impressive ability and drive to absorb knowledge from their surroundings. We at Century Private School strongly believe in taking advantage of this sensitive period through our series of JK/SK programs that promote multi-sensory learning. By offering various forms of stimulation while permitting children the freedom to pursue their own educational inclinations, the optimal path of personal and social growth can be found and pursued. While we approach education from a holistic perspective, our curriculum does have several distinct components.

The elementary program at Century is centred on the goal of inspiring excellence. With an enriched curriculum and a focus on leadership, character development, and community service, our dedicated teachers provide support and engagement as students strive to achieve academic success and personal and social growth.

We believe that specialists are important to our success. With specialists in French, Visual Arts, Drama, Music, and Physical Education, and from grades 5 to 8 in Math, Language, Science and Social Studies, Century offers teachers who provide unique expertise in their fields. In addition to our commitment to core subjects, Century also celebrates the Arts. By updating our Music room and Drama Studio, we are continuing to take steps to encourage and nurture the creative disciplines.

When students have a drive for growth and learning that doesn’t stop at their own grade, Century Private School is pleased to offer a Reach Ahead program, to allow Grade 8 students to step beyond current level and seek more challenges. The Reach Ahead program is an exciting opportunity for students to earn a high school credit in Math or Science during the academic year. The program ensures that the love of learning is never lost and gives students a head start on the next stage of their education. Century Private School prides itself in providing an inclusive and positive learning environment for students who live in Richmond Hill or surrounding areas, as well as international students who wish to receive a Canadian education and be successful in an undergraduate program throughout their College or University studies.

At Century Private School, we recognize the importance of every student developing their own unique pathway to educational success. Every student receives one-on-one consultations with our University/College Liaison Officers, in order to devise and implement post-secondary goals for future success.

At Century Private School, we gladly welcome international students. Through peer support and interaction, and our active and hands-on approach to learning, your child will soon become proficient in English as a second language (ESL) while acquiring the best education possible. Your child’s integration into our active classroom setting will provide them with guided academic instruction and ongoing daily support from the classroom teacher and a specialized ESL teacher. In this setting the learning experience is enhanced through peer interaction at an age-appropriate level. At Century Private School, your child will have access to daily ESL instruction, with a specialized ESL teacher, on a one-on-one or small group basis depending on the student’s level. We will ensure your child gets all the support needed to be successful both in and out of the classroom.
