Chosun University was founded on the needs of the community and the foresight of the foundation associate in 1946. Chosun is using the knowledge and experience gained over the past 70 year to move forward towards a better, brighter future.Chosun University is one of the oldest private universities in South Korea. Its campus is situated in Gwangju metropolitan city, in southwestern South Korea.The first classes of the school, then called Kwangju Evening Academy, were held on September 29, 1946. It was renamed Chosun Academy shortly thereafter, and became a college in 1948. It became a university at the beginning of the 1953 school year, at which time the graduate school was also established.

Gwangju Evening Academy, a predecessor of Chosun University, was authorized and on September 29 of that year, it opened its wide door of education to the public.The Founders' Association affirmed the following three educational ideals of Chosun University : the establishment of a system for personal education; providing of a productive education to link the school and society; setting up of a scholarship system for talented students. These ideals put emphasis on the democratic education of individuals of character to cope with the urgent task of constructing a nation and culture, to cope with the execution of practical education in mutual relations with learning and reality , and to extend educational opportunities to talented students.

The sister university programs have allowed for the exchange of professors and students which have added value to our community and creating global brand value. Compared to when I was in high school and now, the university continues to improve beautifully.In particular, the main building is the second longest building in Asia, and when you see it in person, you will be impressed by how big and energetic it is :)

Chosun University is a very nice campus.
It's nice to have friendly students who are always energetic and diligent in their academic studies. It is also convenient for the general public to rest, exercise, and enjoy time.
Above all, the nice, spacious, cool, and beautiful campus seems to welcome visitors.

Chosun is a public university which is located very close to downtown of Gwangju (just around 10 minutes of walking). The university has a very beautiful rose garden in the center of its campus.

This is Chosun University in Gwangju Metropolitan City. It is a private school, and the Chosun University of Science and Technology, a university hospital, an art school, and a dental hospital are located in one place.
On this visit, I came to Haeoreum Hall to watch a children's concert. It is a place where not only concerts but also e-sports competitions are held. The parking lot is also spacious. I had to pay for parking, but I paid 1,000 won for a 2-hour performance ticket.
