The College is established and registered as an Approved Post Secondary College under the Post Secondary Colleges Ordinance. It has provided 70 years of quality education and excellence to the Hong Kong community and remains committed to enhancing the educational opportunities for young people in Hong Kong.

Recognising the urgent importance of education reforms in Hong Kong, the College Board of Governors committed itself to broadening the education opportunities it offers to young people by enlarging its array of programmes. Its purpose and vision is to nurture future leaders, strengthen the competitiveness of Hong Kong, and help bring about a stable, prosperous and harmonious society in a knowledge-based economic environment.

Through the College's programmes in the arts, humanities and communication, the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences and its students explore the range of creative expression and thought -both past and present- in languages and literature, culture and history, critical thinking and philosophy, media studies and professional ethics. Mission:

  • To nurture students with the aspiration for continuous self-improvement and a positive attitude towards life;
  • To meet the needs of the community by supplying students with strong skills and sense of ethics; and
  • To extend the frontiers of human knowledge by scholarly research and application.

The mission of the Faculty is to provide a broad education in arts and humanities as well as training in a particular academic specialty. We focus on cultural appreciation as well as the proficient and effective use of language, giving students the confidence and ability to face the challenges of a society where multi-lingual communication and cultural sensitivities are increasingly important in a global community.

As our world is becoming more global, more diverse, and more technologically oriented, there is a growing need for environmental protection and architecture on a human scale. The Faculty of Science and Engineering is responding to these changes by providing guidance and expertise in educating the next generation of scientists, engineers and architects.

As a vibrant community of learning, we have served Hong Kong and the neighbouring regions for 70 years. Our graduates have contributed significantly in the education, cultural, technological and business sectors worldwide. Our goal is to nurture students as individuals having knowledge and professional skills but also, perhaps more importantly, imbued with strong values and a sense of good citizenship. We offer Bachelor degree programs comprising Arts, Business, Science and Engineering. We have attained self-accredited power in 7 field via Programme Area Accreditation (PAA) exercise - a necessary step to reach university status. Starting in 2016, we are also accredited to offer three Master degree programmes:

  • Master of Arts in Chinese Studies
  • Master of Architecture
  • Master of Arts in Applied Buddhist Studies

The dedication of the faculty here is palpable, transforming challenges into triumphs, and my child's remarkable academic progression speaks volumes about the enriching educational experience offered.

I graduated from Chu Hai College with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1968.
I attended all my courses in the evening from 64-68. Meanwhile
I was working full time in the day time and not only I could support myself but also could contribute a little support to my parents. No school from July 68 to Aug. 69.

I received a Master Degree in Civil Engineering ( major in structure engineering ) from
U. of Cincinnati in June, 1971. I worked a lot of overtime as a professional engineer and started investing in Real Estate in my spare time in Chicago in 76. I quitted my
engineering job in 87 and devoted all my time to Real Estate. Without the blessing
of my Lord Jesus and Chu Hai I cannot have such achievement especially I am not a local with no connection at all. I am grateful to my Lord and Chu Hai.

I went to this college in 1987. After my first year of Bachelor of Business, I went to Australia. I don't regret for going to Chu Hai College. The College had opened the door for me and it helped me in many ways in my life.
I encourage all the young people go to this college. Education is always a great investment.
