CIT Building and Construction Management and CIT Yurauna have partnered to offer the CIT Indigenous Scholarships for a qualification in Building and Construction Management.

The scholarships are available to assist an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person to enrol in a building and construction management qualification. This will provide an opportunity for the personal and professional development of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander building and construction professionals whether in technical, management or policy roles.

Three scholarships will be awarded in semester 2, 2020, valued at up to $1000.

The scholarships are for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person 17 years or older, mature aged Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students are encouraged to apply.

It is available to an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person, studying full-time or part-time, enrolling in a CIT building and construction qualification.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must be:

  • An Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person 17 years of age or older
  • Either employed in, or seeking employment in, the building and construction industry intending to enrol in a CIT building and construction qualification in 2020
  • Able to meet the entry criteria for the nominated qualification living and/or working in the ACT
  • Committed to complete the nominated qualification at CIT before the end of semester 2, 2022
  • Eligible to attend the relevant classes at CIT Bruce in 2020-2022
  • Must provide Confirmation of Aboriginality or Torres Strait Islander Certificate

Eligible CIT Building and Construction Management Qualifications:

  • Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) (CPC50210)
  • Diploma of Building and Construction (Management) (CPC50308)
  • Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) (CPC40110)
  • Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Contract Administration) (CPC40208)
  • Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Site Management) (CPC40508)
  • Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Estimating) (CPC40308)
  • Certificate II in Construction Pathways (CPC20211)

To be eligible for consideration, you must complete the Indigenous Scholarships in Construction Scholarship Application Form ) in full, and submit it along with supporting documentation to CIT. Applications will be considered and assessed by the selection committee. Interviews may also be conducted. The decision by the selection committee is final and appeals will not be accepted.
