The Coffs Harbour City Council Scholarship will support an undergraduate Civil Engineering student at Southern Cross University. The student must have completed their first year in the Bachelor of Engineering, Honours (Civil Engineering) and be ready to commence their second year of full-time study in 2020.

Value
In 2020 the minimum value to the student will be $8000.00. This scholarship is likely to continue until the recipient graduates. The successful recipient will receive support in the form of reimbursement of study related costs and be offered a range of internship experiences (some paid) with Coffs Harbour City Council. The scholarship does include a period of 12 months leave in 2022 from the degree at which time the student will be employed full-time by Coffs Harbour Council.

Preference will be given, but not limited, to applicants who can demonstrate a connection with the Coffs Harbour Local Government Area.
Eight Councillors, and the Mayor, govern the Coffs Harbour Local Government Area. They abide by a series of Council Policies. The community has a role in helping to set the strategic objectives, programme priorities and service levels to be pursued by Council.
Community engagement and/or participation refers to the broad manner in which the views, aspirations and values of the community are communicated to ensure they are effectively able to inform, influence and assist in the decision-making of Council.
A comprehensive range of community engagement processes (guided by Council’s Community Engagement Policy) is available to assist the community to participate in Council decision-making and to be informed about Council activities. In 2019, Council developed the Community Participation and Engagement Plan which sets out our approach for facilitating community participation and engagement.
