Community School of Naples, an independent, PreK-12 college preparatory day school, was launched in 1982 by a group of parents seeking to establish a private school close to home. Recruited by word-of-mouth, the original student body consisted of fewer than 50 students who began K to 5th grade classes in a rented church space. Today, CSN has more than 800 students and a $40 million, 77-acre campus with 21 buildings, including athletics fields and swimming pool.
Essential elements of the school’s educational program include a comprehensive curriculum focused on academic rigor; opportunities in athletics and arts, both fine and performing; and character development. These elements ensure that each student experiences a challenging education only an independent, college preparatory school can provide.
Community School of Naples has educated more than 3,000 students since its opening. One hundred percent of CSN graduates attend four year colleges and universities, with many attending our nation’s most selective and highly competitive schools.
At Community School of Naples, we have a clear vision of what a modern, well-rounded education should be, in the complex and diverse world of the 21st century. Our task is to prepare students for the future, in an environment where academic success is prized alongside a commitment to being the best version of yourself you can possibly be.
We do this by providing our students with a challenging academic environment, engaging them in a wide range of athletic opportunities and involving them in the fine arts, community service and other clubs and activities, all of which allow them to discover and develop individual passions.
Our academic program is geared toward developing the full potential of each student and preparing them for success, not just at college and university, but also for life. Of course, without our dedicated and talented faculty, our school would not be able to deliver on our mission, nor offer such a diverse and engaging curriculum. CSN’s teachers are highly professional, come with a wealth of experience and are committed to student learning.
Technology is ubiquitous at CSN. We have a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) laptop program in grades 4-12 spanning across the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools, and access to laptops and iPads, with a 1:1 iPad program in our Lower School classrooms. Our campus has universal wireless Internet access that allows students and faculty to use technology wherever they are at school. We embrace technology as another tool for learning and communicating, and we are steadfast in our endeavor to teach Digital Citizenship and responsible use of this essential component that impacts all our lives.
We help our students to develop habits of mind that will last a lifetime, so they are critical, independent thinkers who have a genuine passion for learning. Here on our beautiful 77-acre campus in southwest Florida, it is easy to see why our school is such a popular choice with parents and students alike.
Undoubtedly, CSN's greatest asset is our dedication to forming productive and supportive relationships between our students, faculty, and parents through our personal advisory program. We are with our students every step of the way and take your child's success very seriously. Furthermore, CSN is committed to the development of the whole child. Our students are encouraged to strengthen skills and build confidence through various athletic, art and extra-curricular clubs and programs.
