Courtwood Primary School

Our school is nestled into a green hillside, close to Selsdon Woods, which is an ancient woodland and nature reserve. We are surrounded by the leafy and pleasant Forestdale Estate, yet close to all of Croydon’s many amenities via the tram system.

We believe in strong partnership with parents/carers in order to help each child reach their potential, both academically and personally. Our main focus is on the skills of literacy and numeracy which underpin all learning, and we are proud to have achieved The Basic Skills Quality Mark for the 4th time.

We use our beautiful grounds and local woods to enhance and enrich our curriculum. We harness the new technologies so that our virtual school is open anywhere, anytime. Each child can log-in and access learning in a safe environment while their parent/carer can access most school information.

Our school is an inclusive community of children, staff, parents, governors, friends and colleagues. We all work together for the same aim: to see our children learn and grow towards a successful and happy adulthood.

Courtwood is a happy school, where children enjoy learning and finding out about all their many and varied talents. Once your child is at the school, they will have access to our ‘virtual school’, which is open 24/7. You can be confident when they are online here they are safe and can continue their learning beyond the school day.

At Courtwood we passionately believe in the inclusion of every child; our aim is to nurture every child and prepare them for the future. We teach children how to be successful learners through: Resilience, Independence, Perseverance, Practise, Listening and Effort – RIPPLE.
