The community of Crook Log has a special ‘feel’ about it and many visitors comment on the positive ethos and friendly atmosphere they encounter as they come through our doors, coupled with the exciting and creative learning environment for all, found wherever they look.
The school has a lovely setting with a large sports field and two large playgrounds with play markings.We are currently undertaking an exciting expansion which will result in a brand new extension to our existing building.The Foundation Stage has an excellent outdoor play area.
We have excellent ICT facilities.Each class is equipped with an interactive whiteboard with laptops and ipads used to enhance the children’s learning.Each classroom has its own computer.
The school has a very active School Council, with children from all years sharing ideas during regular meetings.The School Council contribute ideas and influence decisions on many topics.
We offer a broad curriculum and children learn in a happy and courteous atmosphere.Regular newsletters are sent home to update parents on events in school.
Throughout the year clubs take place.These include; netball, football, dance, art club and gardening club.We have visits throughout the year from outside groups which add to the children’s enjoyment of learning.These include, music groups, dance groups, poets and authors and maths workshops.The children are able to participate in local visits and museum trips.The year five children have an opportunity to visit Kingswood Activity Centre on the Isle of White for School Journey week and year six children visit France.
