Canadian School Bahrain (CSB), a leading educational institution in the region, proudly concludes a highly successful Academic Year 2022/2023, marked by remarkable achievements and a multitude of engaging initiatives. From the integration of a new state-of-the-art building to active participation in national campaigns and fostering a holistic educational approach, CSB has demonstrated its commitment to academic excellence, student well-being, and community engagement.
The highlight of the year was the integration of a brand-new building, a significant milestone in CSB’s growth and commitment to providing the best possible learning environment. With 45 spacious classrooms, a well-equipped Learning Commons, a state-of-the-art science lab, and a range of additional amenities including an indoor play area and a prayer room. The new facility showcases CSB’s dedication to academic excellence and holistic education. This expansion has enabled the school to double its student intake, making it one of the largest private schools in Bahrain and the region.

Furthermore, CSB celebrated two momentous occasions during the academic year – the inauguration of a state-of-the-art swimming pool and the opening of a multipurpose hall. The swimming pool, measuring an impressive 12 x 25 meters, is equipped with top-of-the-line amenities, including changing rooms and shower facilities. It provides students with a fantastic opportunity to enhance their swimming skills and promote physical well-being. The multipurpose hall, equipped with modern technology and a raised control room, serves as the school’s main cultural venue for major events and showcases students’ performances, further enriching their learning experience. These additions signify CSB’s unwavering commitment to providing comprehensive facilities that foster holistic development and create a vibrant educational environment for its students.

CSB embraced the new academic year with enthusiasm as students and teachers returned to campus, eager to embark on a year filled with learning and personal growth. The school’s focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) was evident for example, when Grade 4 students collaborated on a challenging STEAM activity to save Fred after his boat capsized and students were posed with a problem that required multiple skills to solve. This hands-on experience fostered critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Additionally, the Grade 2 students at CSB studied and learned values of responsible consumption through their Sustainable Development Goals inquiry units. They gained an understanding between wants and needs through engaging discussions and presentations; this confirms CSB’s commitment to instilling values related to the UN SDG goals.
Recognizing the vital role of parents in a student’s education, CSB organized an Open House Parents Orientation, providing a platform for parents to familiarize themselves with the curriculum and Digital Citizenship while also opening gateways to communication with teachers.

The school’s commitment to fostering a strong school community was evident through events such as “Tea with the Principal,” where influencers and media had the exclusive opportunity to interact with school leaders, discuss the British Columbia (BC) Curriculum, and explore the new building. Furthermore, parent-teacher conferences and student-led conferences facilitated effective communication and showcased students’ progress.

CSB’s dedication to social responsibility was exemplified through its various initiatives. The “Think Pink” day raised awareness and funds for breast cancer, reflecting the school’s commitment to contributing to important causes. Educators received training on dyslexia, enabling them to better support students facing challenges in their reading. CSB students also attended the Bahrain International Airshow, engaging in activities revolving around air and aerodynamics and broadening their horizons.
The school’s involvement in national campaigns highlighted its commitment to environmental awareness and community development. CSB participated in the “Dumt Khadra’a 2” afforestation campaign, welcoming the Secretary-General of the National Agricultural Development Initiative to explore green spaces on campus. Moreover, students actively participated in beach clean-ups, aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and promoting environmental consciousness.
Throughout the academic year, CSB demonstrated its dedication to providing a well-rounded education by organizing a range of events and activities. From literacy-focused events such as Literacy Week and book fairs to the opening of a state-of-the-multipurpose Hall, the school showcased students’ talents and fostered their creativity.
