At Curro Castle Durbanville we started our year with 267 learners and an enthusiastic dedicated team of teachers and assistants who were ready to start the academic year.Our aim and focus for the year was to create an environment that was inviting, friendly and enticing to our learners. Curro Castle Durbanville, learning through life experiences and inquisitive encounters.

We continued to offer an outstanding play-based curriculum with a Loose Parts focus to our curriculum allowing children to entice their imagination and work as part of a team to create structures and more from everyday items.

We pride ourselves in treating every learner as an individual, embracing their unique interests and personalities. Assisting them where they need support and praising them for the milestones they achieved. Striving to ensure our core values of Christian ethos, individualism and praising our learners for who they are.

Curro Durbanville’s very own nursery school, Curro Castle Durbanville, opened in January 2015. The campus is on the Oakhill Church premises and caters for little princes and princesses from 3 months to 5 years old.

At our nursery school we strive to make every day a learning day, filled with new and wonderful experiences to help young children find what interests and inspires them. Curro Castle Durbanville is the ideal nursery school for your young child to feel connected, safe, stimulated and celebrated.

The themed Castle comes complete with detailed fantasy surroundings for children, a story queen, a healthy and balanced daily menu for your young ones, fun-filled holiday programmes and lots of fun and educational activities.

Curro Castle Durbanville provides a sound foundation for meeting the tasks and challenges of future learning.We create an environment of opportunity where the child learns general knowledge, the right attitudes, ethical and moral principles.

We encourage and teach each child social and life skills in a warm and loving environment. We acknowledge that each child is an individual and we allow them to work at their own pace.

We create a sound and safe environment where each child is extended and growth is encouraged academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. The curriculum includes Lego Education learning concepts and the activities built around Lego Soft Bricks form the important early foundations for later Robotics studies.

Our four-week cycle menu includes well-balanced, wholesome meals and snacks which are freshly prepared by Feedem, our catering service provider. Parents are required to provide the mid-morning snack. Progress reports are handed out at the end of the 2nd and 4th terms.

The Castle does not close during school holidays, however we are closed on public holidays and for a specified period during December and January.

Our teacher and assistants received inhouse Curro Castle Curriculum training to ensure we provide the best service possible. Head Office was gracious enough to host these training sessions, also giving our team a chance to meet staff from our Castles.
