We are a small school with a distinct family feel. We are a community where we all work together and where all pupils are challenged to make excellent progress. Our school is a good school where traditional values are important: discipline, uniform, courtesy, good manners and mutual respect underpin day to day life for pupils, parents and staff. We expect a lot of everyone, from governors through to year 7 pupils and we make no apology for our high expectations.
We aim to achieve the very best results from every single pupil to allow them to proceed into adulthood as confident, well-qualified young people, with a strong sense of self discipline, and able to establish and maintain positive relationships with others from all walks of life. At Dame Elizabeth Cadbury we respect, aspire, believe and commit; these are our values, these are our behaviours.
Our Ethos/mission:
We aim to provide a broad, rich, and knowledge-based curriculum, which meets the needs of all our pupils. We have carefully thought through the body of knowledge that we want to give our pupils, so our young people leave us with the knowledge, understanding and skills to be successful adults. Furthermore, our curriculum facilitates successful access to appropriate progression into our own sixth form, or employment or training. From September 2018, we now offer an ample and exciting curriculum for our post-16 learners. From traditional academic courses to the more vocational, our pupils can keep learning and growing their knowledge here at Dame Elizabeth Cadbury, from Year 7 through to Year 13.
The Foundation Learning Faculty is a transition faculty from primary to secondary school that allows pupils who may have areas of weakness in their core subjects to be able to develop and progress at an accelerated rate through smaller teaching groups, with high levels of support. Our aim is to nurture your child’s self-belief, self-respect and enjoyment in learning within a positive, happy and caring environment. The high expectations and exciting learning opportunities will inspire them to accelerate in their learning. Through the support and encouragement of staff and other pupils they will achieve and become a confident, independent learner. If they believe in themselves, they will succeed.
'At Dame Elizabeth we ensure we cover thoroughly all the latest and most relevant issues in both PSHEE, Citizenship and SMSC. From Sex and Relationship Education (SRE) to Prevention of Extremism, students are delivered tailored, age-appropriate sessions on our Topic Days to ensure they are all well equipped with the tools to deal with a challenging and ever changing world.
