Edarabia had the opportunity to interview Ms. Deepika Thappar Singh, the esteemed Principal of Credence High School in Dubai. Ms. Singh is dedicated to nurturing well-rounded individuals who excel academically, socially, and emotionally. Under her visionary leadership, Credence High School has become a beacon of excellence, providing students with a holistic and transformative educational experience.
At Credence High School, 2025 is envisioned as a year of purpose-driven growth. Our meticulously crafted calendar reflects a harmonious balance of academics, extracurriculars, and holistic development. Each department has thoughtfully integrated enriching activities alongside assessments designed to ensure students have ample breaks to rejuvenate and excel. We’ve also prioritised Parent Engagement and Community Outreach programs, believing partnerships with families and communities are the bedrock of student success. Together, we aim to nurture well-rounded individuals who thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Our academic focus areas stem from a culture of continuous reflection through our Self-Evaluation Program. Conducted at the end of each term, this initiative helps us celebrate our strengths while identifying areas for growth. These insights, combined with feedback from students, parents, and teachers, shape our path forward. As we embrace innovative ideas, we are exploring interdisciplinary learning, and experiential education, and leveraging technology to inspire curiosity and creativity in every learner.
The field of education is on the brink of significant transformation, shaped by rapid technological advancements, shifting workforce demands, and evolving student needs. Over the next five years, education will face significant challenges in keeping pace with rapid technological advancements and the evolving global economy. As AI, automation, and digital tools continue to reshape the world of work, students will need an education that fosters critical thinking, adaptability, and a passion for lifelong learning. Schools must equip students with the skills to thrive in a fast-paced, interconnected world, preparing them for careers that don’t yet exist.
At the same time, balancing technology with well-being will be a growing concern. In a tech-dominated world, fostering a “digital detox” culture will be crucial to help students reconnect with the outdoors, nurture meaningful social connections, and rediscover the joy of traditional forms of learning, like books and art.
Rethinking how we assess student learning will also be a priority. The future of assessments must focus not just on what students know, but on how they apply their knowledge and improve their learning processes. We need more inclusive approaches to assessment that reflect the complexity of skills required for success.
Finally, attracting and retaining high-quality educators will remain a priority. Teachers are at the heart of shaping future generations, and we must ensure they have opportunities for professional growth, a supportive work environment, and the recognition they deserve to continue inspiring and empowering students.
We believe every child has a unique spark, and it’s our mission to ignite it. By understanding each student’s interests, addressing their challenges, and celebrating every achievement—no matter how small—we create a supportive and motivating environment. Special assemblies, certificates, and personal recognition go a long way in building confidence. Our teachers are more than educators—they’re mentors who hold one-on-one conversations with students and work closely with their families to ensure personalized guidance and care.
Inclusion is a core value at CHS. Every student is cherished for their individuality, and we strive to create an environment where they feel valued and respected. We stand true to our school tagline: “We laugh, We play, We learn”. From differentiated learning strategies to celebrating diversity in culture, talent, and ability, we ensure each child has the tools and opportunities to succeed.
At Credence, we proactively approach student well-being by fostering a culture of kindness, respect, and open communication. Regular student surveys help us understand their concerns, followed by counselling sessions, wellness programs, and peer-support initiatives to help them manage stress and build empathy.
We have Wellbeing Ambassadors who actively promote inclusivity and stand against bullying. Our Zero-Tolerance Policy ensures that every student feels safe, valued, and heard. Additionally, we conduct workshops on digital safety, conflict resolution, and emotional resilience, empowering students to navigate challenges confidently.
Through mentorship programs and open-door counselling, we create a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to seek help, speak up, and uplift one another.
For us education is not just about academics—it’s about preparing students for life beyond the classroom. We believe in nurturing well-rounded individuals equipped with the skills needed to thrive in an ever-evolving world.
Alongside a strong academic foundation, we emphasize essential life skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, effective communication, and collaboration. We foster resilience, adaptability, and emotional intelligence to help students confidently navigate challenges. Financial literacy, digital responsibility, and global citizenship are other key areas of focus, ensuring students make informed decisions in both their personal and professional lives.
Experiential learning opportunities, including internships, career counselling, and leadership programs, provide our students with real-world exposure and guidance. Our mentorship initiatives, community service projects, and extracurricular engagements further instil responsibility, teamwork, and a sense of purpose.
By fostering a growth mindset and a passion for lifelong learning, we empower our students to transition seamlessly into higher education and their chosen careers, ready to contribute meaningfully to society.
We believe that parents and the community are not just stakeholders—they are our partners in progress. Regular feedback, collaborative workshops, and shared initiatives help us align our vision for every child’s success. Parents play an active role in school activities, from joining our Reading Programs and Bake & Sale events to participating in National Day celebrations. Their support during large-scale events like the Annual Concert and Sports Day is invaluable, showcasing the strength of our partnership. Through engaging platforms like the “My Hero” program and life skills workshops, parents connect directly with students, sharing wisdom and experiences. Additionally, our community outreach programs not only bring us closer but also nurture a deep sense of social responsibility in our students, empowering them to give back to society. Together, we create a vibrant, supportive environment where every child thrives.
Great teachers are the heartbeat of a thriving school. At Credence, we cultivate a culture that values respect, collaboration, and professional growth. Regular training sessions, mentorship programs, and a supportive work environment empower our teachers to excel and feel appreciated. To celebrate
their contributions, we recognize their efforts through initiatives like the fortnightly ‘Spotlight Awards.’ Staff well-being is a top priority, supported by programs such as the Credence Cares Programme, which focuses on fostering physical, emotional, and mental health. This holistic approach ensures our educators thrive, remain motivated, and continue to be an integral part of the Credence family.
Absolutely! At Credence, we are committed to empowering our educators and nurturing their leadership potential. We provide opportunities through leadership workshops, skill-enhancement programs, and structured mentoring pathways to help teachers grow professionally and step into roles where they can lead and inspire. Gender equity is a hallmark of our approach, evident in the fact that all phase supervisors at CHS are women—a testament to our dedication to fostering inclusivity and leadership for all.
Activities that combine creativity and discipline, such as music, dance, and sports, have a transformative impact on students. These pursuits not only develop valuable skills but also foster resilience, teamwork, and self-confidence, traits that prepare students to thrive in any
future endeavour. At Credence, many students excel in sports and co-curricular activities due to the personalised attention they receive during after-school and morning training sessions. Additionally, remedial classes held after school provide targeted academic support, effectively closing learning gaps and empowering students to progress with confidence.
For me, success is when children run into school with joy, eager to learn without fear. It’s when our staff work with passion and pride and when parents trust us to bring out the best in their children. True success is a thriving community where happiness and growth go hand in hand.
Live each day with purpose, knowing that your happiness lies in your hands and your heart.
