1. What are your plans for 2025?

At Credence High School, 2025 is envisioned as a year of purpose-driven growth. Our meticulously crafted calendar reflects a harmonious balance of academics, extracurriculars, and holistic development. Each department has thoughtfully integrated enriching activities alongside assessments designed to ensure students have ample breaks to rejuvenate and excel. We’ve also prioritised Parent Engagement and Community Outreach programs, believing partnerships with families and communities are the bedrock of student success. Together, we aim to nurture well-rounded individuals who thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

2. How do you decide what to focus on academically each year, and which new ideas are you pursuing?

Our academic focus areas stem from a culture of continuous reflection through our Self-Evaluation Program. Conducted at the end of each term, this initiative helps us celebrate our strengths while identifying areas for growth. These insights, combined with feedback from students, parents, and teachers, shape our path forward. As we embrace innovative ideas, we are exploring interdisciplinary learning, and experiential education, and leveraging technology to inspire curiosity and creativity in every learner.

3. What challenges do you anticipate in the field of education over the next five years?

The field of education is on the brink of significant transformation, shaped by rapid technological advancements, shifting workforce demands, and evolving student needs. Over the next five years, education will face significant challenges in keeping pace with rapid technological advancements and the evolving global economy. As AI, automation, and digital tools continue to reshape the world of work, students will need an education that fosters critical thinking, adaptability, and a passion for lifelong learning. Schools must equip students with the skills to thrive in a fast-paced, interconnected world, preparing them for careers that don’t yet exist.

At the same time, balancing technology with well-being will be a growing concern. In a tech-dominated world, fostering a “digital detox” culture will be crucial to help students reconnect with the outdoors, nurture meaningful social connections, and rediscover the joy of traditional forms of learning, like books and art.

Rethinking how we assess student learning will also be a priority. The future of assessments must focus not just on what students know, but on how they apply their knowledge and improve their learning processes. We need more inclusive approaches to assessment that reflect the complexity of skills required for success.

Finally, attracting and retaining high-quality educators will remain a priority. Teachers are at the heart of shaping future generations, and we must ensure they have opportunities for professional growth, a supportive work environment, and the recognition they deserve to continue inspiring and empowering students.

4. How do you keep students interested in learning, especially those who struggle or seem unmotivated?

We believe every child has a unique spark, and it’s our mission to ignite it. By understanding each student’s interests, addressing their challenges, and celebrating every achievement—no matter how small—we create a supportive and motivating environment. Special assemblies, certificates, and personal recognition go a long way in building confidence. Our teachers are more than educators—they’re mentors who hold one-on-one conversations with students and work closely with their families to ensure personalized guidance and care.

5. How does the school ensure all students feel welcome and have the same chances to succeed?

Inclusion is a core value at CHS. Every student is cherished for their individuality, and we strive to create an environment where they feel valued and respected. 10. Do teachers at your school have growth opportunities for leadership roles?

Absolutely! At Credence, we are committed to empowering our educators and nurturing their leadership potential. 11. Which after-school activity would you say has the biggest positive impact on a student’s future?

Activities that combine creativity and discipline, such as music, dance, and sports, have a transformative impact on students. These pursuits not only develop valuable skills but also foster resilience, teamwork, and self-confidence, traits that prepare students to thrive in any

future endeavour. At Credence, many students excel in sports and co-curricular activities due to the personalised attention they receive during after-school and morning training sessions. Additionally, remedial classes held after school provide targeted academic support, effectively closing learning gaps and empowering students to progress with confidence.

12. As a Principal, what is your definition of success?

For me, success is when children run into school with joy, eager to learn without fear. It’s when our staff work with passion and pride and when parents trust us to bring out the best in their children. True success is a thriving community where happiness and growth go hand in hand.

13. If you had the opportunity to inspire the world in one sentence, what would that sentence be?

Live each day with purpose, knowing that your happiness lies in your hands and your heart.
