Earlsmead Primary School is a wonderful, lively and caring primary school, for children aged between 4 and 11 years old. Our school is a happy, stimulating and caring place and we expect high standards of behaviour and good manners throughout the school. We endeavour to provide memorable experiences for our children. We continually encourage our children to explore, create and develop a real love of learning.

At Earlsmead, we also believe that education is an experience that all children should enjoy to the full. We offer a relevant and engaging curriculum: creativity and a culture of achievement are key strengths in our school. We celebrate success for all – we all learn best when we are encouraged, and we feel good about ourselves. We develop a strong community spirit in our children that helps them to become positive, active and responsible citizens in the future. We wish our children to have special and happy memories of their time at Earlsmead.

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.

Our school motto is Believe and Achieve. Why? Because at Earlsmead, we are committed to ensuring that all our pupils, families and members of staff:

  • Believe that they are valuable and unique members of the school community. Each person is supported and encouraged to develop an “I can do” attitude. We inspire confidence and trust, celebrate differences, promote happiness, and cultivate resilience, energy and motivation
  • Achieve to the best of their ability. Each person is given supportive opportunities to develop skills, knowledge and attitudes to equip them for life-long growth and learning. Together, we raise aspirations, foster tenacity and resolve, and celebrate achievement at every level.

Earlsmead Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all governors, staff and volunteers to share this commitment. It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that students are cared for appropriately and safeguarded from any harm, and it is their duty of care to promote the health, safety and welfare of all members of the school community. Staff working at Earlsmead Primary School are expected to act professionally and provide a safe and supportive environment which secures the well-being and very best outcomes for all students in our care.

Earlsmead Primary School is an inclusive school, with pupils from a range of cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds; and pupils with a range of adiditonal needs. At Earlsmead, we believe that every child has the right to a good quality education in an environment where they feel safe and valued. We believe that every member of our school community - pupils, staff, parents, families, governors and the local community, regardless of ability, background or circumstance - should have the opportunity to learn, share and work in an inclusive and supportive environment. We believe that through celebrating diversity with respect and understanding, a supportive environment can be created.

At Earlsead, we strive to identify any additional learning needs as early as possible, to ensure that the appropriate support is provided for both children and adults alike. Our open door policy allows parents to approach the school to ensure that needs are identified; and enables us to provide the appropriate provision to ensure all of our pupils succeed. Our class teachers are responsible for the progress and attainment of all children, including those with Special Educational Needs.
