ESSCA equips students and managers for a successful and sustainable career while taking fully into account the human and social dimensions of a globalized world.
This is achieved through high level academic and professional management programs, developed by research-active faculty, a strong student mentoring system and respect for the traditional humanist values on which the school was founded.

Out of over 5,000 candidates who take the competitive entrance examination for the Master in Management Programme, 800 have been admitted into the 1st year. ESSCA has also recruited 200 French and international students directly into the 1st year of this programme. ESSCA’s alumni quickly join the corporate world—94% of them find their first position in less than four months following their graduation, and 93% of them state that they are pleased with their first job.

ESSCA is a well-established Business School: For over 100 years it has consistently kept to the humanistic values that make up its ethical foundations.

It is our aim to develop ESSCA’s excellence further and to foster an atmosphere of support for young people who are about to start their professional lives.

ESSCA’s Board of Trustees is composed of representatives of the ESSCA association’s founding members: Catholic University of Angers, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Alumni Network. It meets up to four times a year. It engages with questions of budget, planning and policy, and ensures that the school’s strategy is in line with the needs of the school’s environment and today’s business world.

Educating students for careers in a globalized world is central to ESSCA’s mission. Thanks to a mandatory international semester – study or internship – during the 3rd year and the possibility of further study or internships abroad at master level, all ESSCA students are given the opportunity to develop their language and intercultural skills, while gaining credits for transfer to their ESSCA degree.

ESSCA’s 214 plus partner network is crucial to this objective. All student mobility with partner universities is on an exchange basis and incoming international students in France have the choice of studying in French or in English. ESSCA also runs programs in Budapest and Shanghai, both for ESSCA and international students and here teaching is in English. Each year some 500 ESSCA students participate in the exchange programmes with these partners, studying either for one semester or a year. In turn, ESSCA welcomes a similar number in its programmes in Angers, Paris, Budapest or Shanghai.

Teaching staff exchanges with partner universities and a growing number of full-time international Faculty are also important to the development of the international dimension of the ESSCA programs and its international research. Both short and long-term visiting faculty positions are offered with, as a result, over 50 foreign lecturers teaching in the programs in France each year and international and ESSCA permanent faculty teaching in Budapest and Shanghai.

As an international student coming from American I had a lot of fun and met amazing people here. Students and teachers alike. I attended the Paris rental. But I had to give it two times because of the materials taught in the classroom was out dated. Also the race structure was a joke. The professors were not allowed to teach them how they were wanted and made for boring and irrelevant information being taught. Lastly, I know it is the French way, or so I was told, that e verything should be done with group projects to get your marks. But this style of evaluation is worthless because they are unable to choose their group every time, which leads to an unbalanced of the work load. And the groups hend the knowledge learned. I would recommend anyone to go to study abroad or to the Erasmus program if you are able to. But insure that the place you choose matches what and how you want to learn.

If I had to come back on these 5 amazing years at ESSCA (International Polytechnic School of Business) I would first describe it as an amazing adventure made of meetings, readings, parts and also LOVE. Thanks you so much K. White!
