We currently have around 350 pupils in the primary school and we have full time nursery spaces for 2-5 year old children. In addition to classroom spaces we have a library and separate halls for Physical Education, assemblies and dining. There is a separate computer suite as well as iPads for use in classrooms. We appreciate our working kitchen which cooks great meals fresh on the premises.

The school is well resourced and enjoys good links with the local and wider community. We are located in the heart of the Drylaw community and have good links with the local neighborhood center which provides a popular breakfast club. We have good after school provision which also operates during holiday periods. We enjoy a successful partnership with our Parent Council which is open to all parents.

If you are considering this school for your child’s education please contact the Head Teacher, Mr. S Crabb. We are happy to answer any questions that you may have or provide additional information to assist you with your decision. We can also arrange for a tour of the school. Your decision regarding a school is an important consideration and we are happy to assist you in any way that we can. A general enquiry does not place you under any commitment to choose this school.

Our approach is closely linked to Education Scotland’s vision for Outdoor Learning which is

  • all children and young people are participating in a range of progressive and creative outdoor learning experiences which are clearly part of the curriculum
  • schools and centers are providing regular, frequent, enjoyable and challenging opportunities for all children and young people to learn outdoors throughout their school career and beyond
  • teachers and educators embed outdoor learning in the curriculum so that learning in the outdoor environment becomes a reality for all children and young people.

There will need to be patience and flexibility on all sides as we support each other through this very challenging situation, but by communicating with one another and always looking at how we can find solutions, our pupils will continue to learn, build skills and develop a new way of working that will help them in their futures.
