FLAME always encourages its students to go beyond the conventional education system and promotes co-curricular activities. FLAME encourages student participation in campus governance. The campus has a democratically elected Student Council. The Council contributes in the academic and disciplinary proceedings at FLAME. The Council has three committees, namely, Student Welfare Committee, Sports Committee and Cultural Committee, with student members from all programs at FLAME. This structure encourages student interaction and helps in developing the overall personality and leadership qualities of the students.
FLAME University has been established as a state private university vide the FLAME University Act 2014 (Maharashtra Act No. II of 2015) of the Government of Maharashtra. FLAME University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f), and degrees awarded by the University are recognized under Section 22 of the UGC Act, 1956. It is Jain Minority Institution. FLAME has been set up with an idealistic vision and a social commitment to contribute to society in a noble manner.
FLAME has been created as an academic institution anchored in Liberal Education. It is the pioneer of Liberal Education in India. The objective of Liberal Education at FLAME is to go beyond the known and familiar structured and narrowly encapsulated forms of knowledge. The aim is to provide students a learning experience that would excite and enthuse them. The education at FLAME University rests in multiplicity and simultaneity, as well as in making active choices from all that is made available. After 3 months of studying and spending my time in FLAME University, I can confidently say that I am very satisfied with the decision I made to study here. The academic curriculum is extremely well structured, giving us the opportunity to explore our interests in greater depths, learn disciplines we had never heard of before and also take courses that improve a wide variety of our skills.
FLAME University provides us with a perfect balance of academic and non-academic opportunities with the many student-led clubs and initiatives. At FLAME, each person would find a safe space to pursue their interests in a club.
In order to equip the students with practical and professional experience, we have several projects that we complete during the summer. These programmes involve internships, volunteer work and social and cultural activities. These activities aid students in undergoing a holistic development process.
It is of course a well known fact that the campus is rejuvenating with the vast greenery and modern infrastructure. Essentially, this University would be a suitable fit for anyone.

I'm currently a student at FLAME and I love it. Other than the beautiful scenery, the academic curriculum of this university is what makes it stand out to me (especially in India). First year is all about exploring different courses from all kinds of fields, so that from second year, we can choose our major and minor. These courses range from Photography to Psychology to Digital Marketing (which I have taken) and so many more. The teachers are professional, helpful, approachable and friendly.
There are also several different clubs for one to join or you can create a new club. For example, I am part of the music, gaming, and environment clubs (but there are so many more).
There are many opportunities for growth like an internship we have to do at an NGO at the end of our first year and different competitions/festivals one can be a part of (for example 'Kurukshetra' - a sports festival with universities all around India).
There are several facilities such as laundry, cafeteria and food shops such as Cafe Coffee Day and more.
If anyone wants a liberal education with an easy and comfortable life, FLAME is the university.

I am currently a first year student at FLAME University. The three months that I have already spent here has been truly amazing. From it’s beautiful campus, helpful faculty and interesting courses offered, FLAME is truly one of a kind. It is very hard to find a good liberal arts college in India but FLAME fits all the requirements of being a good university to pursue your undergraduate as well as postgraduate program in. It provides a variety of courses to choose from that can help us decide our major and minor. It is really helpful since a lot of us don’t have a clear idea of what we want to pursue. The faculty helps us with every step along the way. The campus provides us with a safe and enriching environment. The change didn’t drastically affect me since FLAME and the students within in it were all welcoming. Within the campus itself we have many cafes and eateries. For a sportsperson like me, FLAME provides many facilities such as a huge basketball court and football field as well as a well functioning gym. It provides us the amenities to explore both academics and spirts freely. It also has many clubs formed by students themselves that help promote different interesting extra curricular activities. All in all I think FLAME is a great place to pursue your liberal education in.
