Foresters Primary School

Foresters is a small, friendly well resourced, primary school. We have 12 classes including a nursery and children come to school aged 3 and stay with us until they are 11. We have a large committed staff with many years of experience.

The school is very lucky to have 4 classes where children with autism are taught and they not only contribute to the caring ethos of the school but bring in resources and expertise that helps support children in the classes.

We are committed to a ensuring our children achieve high standards in all areas of the curriculum whilst ensuring that the school takes notice of and adheres to all national and local policies and guidance in regard to Safeguarding Children and Young People.

The school is fortunate to have four classes for children with autism. Not only does this contribute to the caring ethos of the school but brings in resources and expertise that helps support children across the whole school.

Our school is a modern single-storey building with an Early Years Foundation Stage Unit. We are fortunate to have a dedicated music teacher, library, OT room, sensory room, computer suite, a well-equipped playground including a trim trail and a wonderful sports pavilion. Disabled toilet facilities are available in the school. Access to the playground and playing field is via steps or a ramp.

We believe in educating the 'whole' child and have a wide and diverse curriculum which is not only focused on academic achievement but life skills, sport and the arts. Much use is made of the extensive school grounds and the children are given a wide variety of experiences both within the school day and through extra curricular activities. These include regular educational visits (much use is made of free transport within London) and clubs/teams such as football, tag rugby, badminton, basketball as well art, cookery, computer, gardening and music.
