Open and transparent communication is key to building a strong bond between home and school; and is critical to developing principled, confident and independent students.

At both GIS Kindergarten and GIS Primary schools, there are many ways for parents and teachers to share information, share news or raise concerns.

We offer a unique program that strives to blend the best of Chinese and international educational practices to deliver a wide-ranging and balanced education for our students. Children in our school, aged 6-12 years old, benefit from this blended approach where core foundational skills are taught in an environment that emphasizes independence, confidence, and holding to one’s principles.

Our program allows for families to choose the educational stream that best fits their child’s needs. Every child has daily opportunities to learn and explore in English and Chinese with experienced and caring staff who are dedicated to the success of each student. Our core academic subjects are complimented by a range of physical education and arts classes that offer children opportunities to explore and excel in many areas. TGIS students are encouraged to understand and appreciate their own cultures while also respecting different cultures and recognizing the richness that diversity brings. Today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders, and we aim to equip our students with all the skills necessary to be deep thinkers and collaborative problem-solvers so that they may contribute fully in an increasingly connected international society.

Children learn best when they are happy and healthy. At GIS Primary, we strive to provide a healthy environment for all. Freshly prepared balanced meals from our kitchen are served in the cafeteria, where children eat together at breakfast and lunch. Children are encouraged to try a range of foods and are expected to eat independently.

Our nurses office is staffed by full-time qualified nurses. In cases when children become unwell, they will be cared for and assessed by a nurse in the first instance. If required, the nurses will contact parents to arrange for a sick child to be collected from school.
