Andrew Kai Fong, Secondary Principal, GEMS Wellington Academy – Silicon Oasis: “Our A-level and BTEC results are the strongest in WSO’s history and, importantly, continue the upward trend in A-level results since we expanded our post-16 offering to include them. They are an incredible testament to the dedication and focus of our students and a reflection of the professionalism and skill of the staff who have taught them over the last two years. Our BTEC students continue our proud tradition of 100% pass rates, with a significant proportion of triple D*. While we highlight our cohort results, true to our vision and mission of ‘a story for every child’, we are looking forward to celebrating individual stories and destinations and watching our students thrive in their next steps.”

Steve Walby, Head of BTEC, GEMS Wellington Academy – Silicon Oasis: “Our BTEC Level 3 students have achieved exceptional results this year, with the majority earning top grades across their courses. These outcomes are a testament to their hard work, commitment, and the practical skills they’ve developed throughout the programme. We’re incredibly proud of how they’ve grown both academically and professionally, and we look forward to seeing the impact they’ll make in the next stage of their journeys.”

Mohammad Abdelfattah Hussein Allahham: “I’m extremely happy to have reached this destination, but for me, it has always been more about the journey. Looking back, my post-16 years were about far more than just A-levels, as I gained lifelong skills in leadership, built lasting relationships, and grew in ways no grade alone could measure. I am extremely grateful to my teachers, family, and friends who have walked beside me along the way. In particular, I want to thank my parents, who made every obstacle easier to cross. While today may feel like an arrival, it is rather a pit stop on a much longer journey, with many more roads yet to explore at UCL.”

Johann Stephan Rezende Grings Herbert: “I am extremely happy with this achievement, which represents the culmination of two years of hard work from not only myself but also my teachers and other members of the WSO community who supported me throughout this journey. These last two years have truly been a pleasure, thanks to my amazing teachers and classmates – I couldn’t have done it without them. Now that I’ve graduated, I will continue to learn new things and improve myself, with the aim of becoming an airline pilot within the next few years.”

Michelle Sana Sayegh: “Words can’t begin to describe how grateful and blessed I am for this achievement. These two years have been incredibly challenging, filled with long nights and sacrifices, but I gave it my all, every step of the way. I want to thank WSO and my amazing teachers for their guidance, patience, and belief in me (and for dealing with my questions and panic!). Your support shaped my journey and made this achievement possible. This has opened the door to my next chapter at Queen Mary University of London Malta to study medicine, something I’ve worked so hard for and will forever treasure.”

Mariam Islam Saadeldin Elkasrawy: “I’m incredibly grateful for my journey at WSO. Since joining in Year 7, I’ve been greatly supported by my teachers, family, and friends throughout my secondary journey. I’ve been able to build my confidence and resilience by undertaking challenges, the most difficult of which have been A-levels. I’m proud of my academic and personal achievements and will carry the lessons that I have learnt over these past seven years into this new chapter.”

Aditi Yadav: “Post-16 at WSO has been an unforgettable chapter, filled with growth, learning and achievement. The unique opportunities here have enriched my academic journey in countless ways. I am deeply grateful to Miss Idowu, Miss Kelleher, Miss Patel, and my parents for their unwavering guidance and encouragement throughout my A-level studies. Their mentorship has not only helped me navigate challenges but also inspired a lasting passion for learning. With these invaluable experiences, I am excited to begin studying economics at the University of Warwick.”

Maria Aziz Betulwala: “My BTEC results are more than grades, they’re a launchpad for my journey ahead. I’m committed to being an all-rounder, thriving in academics, leadership, and life, while building a career in the science stream that makes an impact. I’m deeply grateful to be part of the WSO family, and for the guidance of my teachers and the unwavering support of my family in shaping my mindset and fuelling my ambition. Over these two years at WSO, I’ve developed consistency, discipline, and a range of skills I couldn’t have perfected anywhere else. I’m proud to say that it has truly prepared me to become world-class and world-ready.”

Sadhika Satish Gopinathan: “Behind the achievement of these results is my resilience, hard work, and the unwavering support received from all my teachers and peers at WSO. From the passionate performing arts department to the incredible psychology department to the amazing post-16 leadership, there was never a day when I didn’t feel encouraged and inspired to push beyond my limits. I am beyond grateful to now be attending Berklee College of Music to pursue a BA in vocal performance and music therapy, where I aim to turn my childhood dream into a lifelong career.”

Olivia Rose Latham: “The BTEC programme at WSO gave me an opportunity to excel in my chosen subject and provided me with a learning style which no other pathway allowed. It was tailored to my strengths and individual needs. My teachers were the reason I achieved as much as I did because they were always there to challenge me to do my best and on hand to guide me whenever I had any concerns. I was not only supported in the classroom but also with my future career and future endeavours. My teachers and head of year helped me to balance my time, deal with stressful situations, and I was always welcome in their offices when I had news to share. After 12 years at WSO, the staff are more like family than teachers and I couldn’t be more thankful.”
