GEMS Academy Alexandria

Situated in the coastal city of Alexandria, GEMS Academy Alexandria (GAA) was established in 2011 and we are honoured to offer students access to a high quality educational system.

GAA only employs highly qualified and experienced expatriate class teachers who are responsible for delivering all core subjects as well as being responsible for pastoral care. At GAA we actively encourage parent-teacher communication to develop and maintain an effective home-school partnership. We have regular communication throughout the academic year with parents and we also host parent-teacher conferences.

Our classrooms are bright, spacious and well ventilated. At GAA we have a 2-adult per class policy at all times; in each of our classes we always have a teacher and a teaching assistant available to ensure that the academic and social needs of your child is catered for.

At GAA we are also very aware that child safety and protection is an important component for parents when selecting a school for their child. Throughout our school premises we have continual camera surveillance and we pride ourselves on our approach to safety and security.

Staff are chosen for their ability and commitment to create learning environments that foster excellence. They have a passion for education and an ability to communicate effectively. Through our on-going investment in the professional development of our staff, we provide curricula and effective teaching that is tailored to the specific needs of our students. Within the context of ‘Life Long Learning’ Literacy and Numeracy skills are priorities and are integrated throughout the school curriculum. All our class teachers are native qualified teachers with at least three years of teaching experience.

All of our classrooms provide students with an environment which enables them to learn in comfort as well as offering them access to new technological approaches to learning. In an ever evolving technological world, interactive whiteboards are no longer enough to appeal to young minds. Throughout all of our school classes, all children have access to e-learning via both interactive whiteboards and interactive educational tablets. Students also have access to our ICT suite, during our ICT lessons we not only focus on the ICT skills required to be a 21st century citizen but we also promote internet safety which is vital in today’s society.

Our approach to science is also important to us and our core values. All of our children have access to a variety of science laboratories which have been designed and equipped to develop the natural curiosity of a child’s mind and to build their enquiring minds.

At GAA we do not just dedicate our time to educating our students about music and drama as part of the curriculum, but to also build their creativity and confidence and allow them the opportunity to exhibit their talents to an audience. At GAA we are fortunate to have an expansive two tier auditorium to help highlight all of the student’s talents and achievements.
