Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography

The All-Russian state institute of cinematography of S. A. Gerasimov (VGIK) is federal public educational institution of the higher education of the Russian Federation.The VGIK is under authority of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.The founder and the owner of property of Institute is the Russian Federation.

The official name of Institute in Russian: the full – Federal public budgetary educational institution of the higher education "The All-Russian state institute of cinematography of S. A. Gerasimov"; the reduced – the All-Russian state institute of cinematography of S. A. Gerasimov; abbreviation: VGIK.The official name of Institute in English – Russian State University of Cinematography named after S.Gerasimov; an abbreviation – VGIK.

The college of cinema, television and multimedia the VGIK created according to the solution of the Academic council the VGIK in May, 2004 is the structural division of the All-Russian state institute of cinematography of S. A. Gerasimov realizing programs of secondary professional education. Interaction with faculties and chairs of institute allows to transfer and introduce many high school traditions in College, to give to educational process high school orientation.

Teachers of College – professors, leading experts in area of the fine arts, animation, teachers and graduate students of institute. Creation of uniform creative space throughout all time of training which main value is each student, forms spiritual developed, creative, is moral also physically healthy personality focused on a conscious choice of living position, independent development of ideas at the modern level.

Good knowledge and skills is received by students during the educational and work practice directed on formation at students of practical professional abilities, acquisition of initial experience, development of the general and professional competences on the chosen specialty.

Enrollment of students is carried out both on budgetary, and on a compensation basis. Reception due to budgetary appropriations of the federal budget is carried out according to the target figures of reception approved by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

The college trained and let out more than 500 experts of an average link for film production, television, animation studios, advertizing agencies and theaters on the following specialties: "Painting", "Equipment and art of photography", "Audiovisual equipment and sound technical providing audiovisual programs", "Lighting design", "Management", "Advertising", "The theatrical and audiovisual equipment".

Now training is provided in "Painting (by types)".The analysis of quality of educational activity shows that the structure of preparation meets needs of the market for experts of an average link. The college renders additional educational services – career guidance courses work. The college of cinema, television and multimedia the VGIK of S. A. Gerasimov gives the good praktiko-focused education - the school student has opportunity after the 9th class to finish secondary education and to receive the good modern specialty demanded in labor market.
