GESS has strong European foundations and believes in developing confident, forward-looking students through a celebration of respect, openness and diversity. GESS is recognised for its languages and offers a choice between two main curricula: the German Curriculum and the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme in English. Many languages are offered as part of the unique mother tongue and language enrichment programmes. The school caters to students of all ages, starting from 2 years to graduation at 18 years. The school is a private school association, which is managed by an elected board and school management. The school currently has more than 450 full and part-time employees.

As commissioned by the German Foreign Office, the Central Agency for German Schools (CAGS) supports the German European School Singapore (GESS) in terms of financial, personnel and education resources. In addition, CAGS helps to promote quality-oriented advancement of the school through professional advisory and support services.

As one of the leading international schools in Singapore, GESS is home to students from over 66 nations worldwide. We are for many families the home away from home and we are very happy that they are part of our school community which is based on mutual support and solidarity. With our language programme we support our students to nurture this part of their identity and want to preserve the opportunity that they can grow up with multiple languages to be best prepared for an international environment. With the German International Abitur or the IB Programme they are perfectly prepared for their career after school. It is important that our students graduate from GESS and have learned to enjoy lifelong learning as well as incorporate our GESS values of respect, openness and diversity into their life after school.

Our students are supported as well as promoted and the Centre for Excellence’s task is to promote them and offer endless possibilities to unfold and present their knowledge and skills. The Junior Engineer Academy offers a unique opportunity in Asia to unfold their abilities in natural science. On the other hand, the Learning Support department provides support if students need it.

At GESS there should be something for everyone, therefore we offer an extensive CCA programme on our top-notch campus. Their horizon should not be restricted to our Campus, but should expand to the whole world. In the course of their school career, our students will actively participate in social projects, during their internship they will gain practical experience and experts from our partner companies will convey their knowledge in speeches which are regularly organised for our students.

Great school. Multicultural and multilingual. Excellent facilities (better than most schools in Singapore) and IB results. A number of students (including my daughter) have gone to great universities as a result of the excellent teachers at GESS. Highly recommended.

The support and care of the teachers is amazing. My children have really benefited from this and are much more confident. Yes the campus and facilities are first class but the teaching and support is what really makes GESS a great school.

We have a wonderful experience with GESS teachers that have come into our son's life. In Grade 2, his form teacher gave enough opportunities to build his confidence. Each grade he rises, he learns more about himself and the world around him; his immediate community and how he can make a difference. Academically, it's well paced for this age. He is in middle school now. We are grateful that the school is a safe space for our son to grow.
