Golden Key is the world's largest collegiate honor society. Membership into the Society is by invitation only and applies to the top 15% of college and university sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as top-performing graduate students in all fields of study, based solely on their academic achievements. As an international honor society with more than 400 chapters at colleges and universities around the world, Golden Key is committed to a high standard of scholastic achievement, and an ethos of integrity, innovation, respect, collaboration and diversity.

With more than 2 million members, including honoraries like Desmond Tutu, Elie Wiesel and Bill Clinton, Golden Key carries an esteemed legacy of achievement. Members are a community with a linkage to widely respected individuals and ideals … all part of the continuum of excellence.

Golden Key offers its members exclusive opportunities and connections through over half a million dollars in scholarships and awards, partnerships with major corporations, career advancement and graduate programs. The Society also works with university faculty and administrators to develop and maintain one of the highest standards of education in the world.

As portrayed on the Society’s seal, our three signature elements, Academics, Leadership and Service, are inextricably linked together. Golden Key membership begins with the recognition of academic excellence, but the true benefit of membership is realizing one’s potential through leadership and service in the community. Golden Key recognizes high-achieving students for their commitment to academics—undergraduates for being in the top 15% of their class, and top-performing graduate students. Members connect with others who share their passion for learning, leading to a lifetime of scholarship and achievement.

Members cultivate leadership skills that will serve them throughout their personal and professional lives. Golden Key provides opportunities to develop these skills locally, regionally, nationally and internationally, bringing like-minded people together to further a shared purpose. These experiences are invaluable in helping each member grow, both as an individual and as a leader. Giving back is a core value of Golden Key. Chapters organize service activities that benefit local and international communities. The service projects range from educational projects to community outreach events, and individual members contribute numerous hours to similar causes each year. The goal is to have a positive impact on local neighborhoods and society as a whole.

A United Nations of college students, advisors and alumni, Golden Key brings together ambitious, scholarly, community-minded people from all walks of life. Members make up their own melting pot -- each with a different background, history and culture. Each contributes unique experiences and attributes to the spirit of the whole, and each has a different story to tell. Please use the menu to the left to view the members of each of our boards and councils.
