Hana Charistian International Kindergarten

Hana Christian International Kindergarten was established to meet the Educational needs of Thai children and children of other nationalities.

When HCIK opened in 2006, we had 20 students from Nursery – Kindergarten 2. Since that time the school has grown and we added Kindergarten 3 in 2007. HCIK was originally a bilingual kindergarten, but as the numbers of students grew, we found it was necessary to provide an international curriculum and system to meet the needs of our now multi-national students. As a result it was upgraded to an International School in the year 2009.

The school is located in a peaceful suburban area southwest of Chiang Mai, Thailand, just right across the street from the Royal Flora Project. With an international airport, rail and bus lines, and major highway routes, Chiang Mai is well-connected with the rest of Southeast Asia and the world.

Hana Christian International Kindergarten is a Christian School and it is our mission to let students know about God and Jesus Christ. Our goal is to equip students with basic Christian Principles that they can apply to their daily lives in the present and in the future. We seek to develop the knowledge, understanding, and practice of Biblical principles in our students and to encourage a Christian environment of love, sharing, caring, and helping. Our staffs teach and care each child with the purpose of sharing God’s love. We believe in educating in a manner that affirms faith and honors individual uniqueness as every child is created in the image of God.

Our school strives to nourish the intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual development of every child. We encourage creativity as well as critical thinking skill. Teachers provide a safe and loving environment, ideal for growth and stability in the children’s lives.

• The school emphasizes learning that is a natural fit for each group. Programs and activities focus on the creative development of students in a way that is both appropriate and effective.
• Cleanliness and safety of all students at the school is a high priority. Toys and school supplies are cleaned at least once a day. The school has a key card system and CCTV in the classrooms and on the school grounds.
• The school provides a clean and spacious indoor and outdoor playground and plenty of toys for the student ratio.
• The classrooms are spacious and clean with a good range of toys.
• Teachers are qualified and experienced. Teachers love and care for the students as their own children.
• Each class has enough Teachers for the teacher to student ratio.
• Foreign teachers are the main classroom teacher.
• School is open from Nursery to Kindergarten 3 (aged 1-6 years)
• The school has an accredited standard of education with professional, reliable executive personnel and staff.
• Students have many opportunities for social interaction and there are many social activities.
• A CD image containing pictures of the activities of students participated in various activities is given to parents once every two months.
• Monthly Field Trips for K.1-K.3 students.
• Tae-kwon-do classes by an experienced teacher every Friday.
• Daily reports for the parents where parents can give their responses or opinions.

Hana Christian International Kindergarten provides an environment where students feel happy and are able to develop the ability to learn to their full potential, which is important in helping the students to grow and be balanced in every aspect of life. The school focuses on the social, emotional, physical, mental and spiritual development of the students and students are able to practice the skills they learn in a natural way.

On a sunny day, one of the activities the students enjoy doing is drawing pictures with sidewalk chalk. The teacher will prepare many colors of sidewalk chalk for the students to choose from. The students will then draw pictures using their imagination. This activity allows the students the opportunity to practice using their fine motor skills, imagination, and creativity to create a scene or picture using wide spaces. They also learn about colors.

The school is surrounded by numerous large and small trees which creates a good environment for the students. The school has both an indoor and outdoor playground and has CCTV cameras installed in the classroom and on the school grounds. Entrance to the school is through a registered key card. With all these features parents can be confident in the safety of the children in the school.
