Durston House is a vibrant, stimulating and energetic community. We are forward looking with a proud and long history of academic achievement.
At Durston we are proud of our diverse community, one which values people through mutual respect, compassion, and warmth. At Durston we welcome pupils from all ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds; this is a school where pupils are taught from their earliest experiences, that a generosity of spirit, mutual respect and fairness really matter.

In April 2022, we announced that Durston House and Harvington Preparatory School are to merge from September 2023, creating a new and exceptional co-educational offer for West London families. Pupils see both their male and female peers excelling academically across a variety of subjects and understand that no one gender is better at a subject than the other. They grow to respect and appreciate the opinions and attributes of both genders.

“This has been an exciting opportunity to develop a premier, academically rigorous co-educational school in Ealing, where pupils will be offered every opportunity to thrive in a caring, enriching and aspirational setting – regardless of their ethnicity, gender or faith.”

Pupils are recognised and appreciated for who they are as individuals. There is a wholehearted commitment to a holistic education, in which each individual and their talents come first. Our pupils shape the community and are supported and nurtured by teachers who really care. The excellent pastoral care at Durston allows for the school to flourish as the happy and relaxed place that it is.

An education here is based upon academic rigour through excellent teaching, encouraging our pupils to explore, question, take risks, and develop their creativity, communication, and teamwork – all central to successful life-long learning. Our pupils demand to be stimulated and challenged by their teachers, and in turn the expectations of our pupils to be the best version of themselves is equally important. All of this is achieved through a spirit of humility and quiet determination.

At Durston we are proud of the academic achievements of our pupils along with all they contribute to the broader aspects of the curriculum – the visual and performing arts, music and sport are all fundamental to a Durston education.

A pupil’s education here is shaped by the development of their character by giving them the confidence and skills to excel, their curiosity to learn and discover more, and their expanding capability to succeed in all they take on. These three concepts, Character, Curiosity and Capability are the cornerstones of a pupil’s success at Durston House and their success in life.

A fantastic school where you will feel loved, nurtured and helped to achieve your potential by a generous and caring "family", the Harvington family!

Harvington is a wonderful school. The individual child is at the centre of everything it does. It does not only select the brightest children and get good results it gets the best out of every child. Class sizes are small and it is a relatively small school but it is a big family. The facilities and space are fantastic for a prep school, lunches are cooked fresh on site, the drama and music departments in particular are outstanding, clubs are diverse and change regularly. There are regular trips including one to France and a residential trip in Year 6. There is a swimming gala, netball matches, a school play. Everything they do is inclusive, it is a school where your child will fulfill their academic potential in an environment that will build their confidence and encourage them to be individuals true to themselves. Unlike some schools it is not a boot camp which is only interested in results and with no pastoral care. You will not be asked to get your child tutored or remove them if they are not keeping up, they will be given the individual attention they need to catch up and progress. We were given expert guidance on the 11+ process and my daughter received offers of places from 5 senior schools. We couldn't have been happier with Harvington and although we were sad to leave the school it has done it's job because my daughter was prepared for the challenges ahead, she has made the move to an excellent senior school seamlessly and continues to thrive.
