March 2018 saw another Vaudeville come and go, and an awesome one it was, diligently organized. A soul that was vibrant, contagious and exuberant. There was a soul to it, from a quasi-objective observer, Vaudeville 2018, the Voice of Dubai was an amazing achievement.
IMT Dubai proudly presented VAUDEVEILLE’18, the Annual Inter-College Festival, which comprised fun-filled cultural activities of ‘OASIS’, energy-infused sports events of ‘ZEST’, mind-blowing academic events in ‘ACUMEN’, and a ‘SPOTLIGHT’ on fashion show, performances & parties which most definitely made you go ‘WOW’!
The week-long event was inaugurated by the Director during the kickoff ceremony who shared a few words of inspiration and motivation with the students and the participants who visited from colleges all across DIAC and KV.
‘VAUDEVILLE’ has its origin in French. In the 1800s, it was said to be a name given originally to songs composed by Olivier Basselin, a 15th-century fuller born in Vau de Vire in Normandy. In modern times, it is defined as theatrical entertainment consisting of a number of individual performances, acts, or mixed numbers, as by comedians, singers, dancers, acrobats, and magicians.
The event was sponsored by brands like Adidas; Barakat; Tadweer and Bounce etc. Brand Vaudeville is based on three main pillars which form an integral part of our ideology as a festival and shapes our vision:
“This was only the second Vaudeville I have witnessed, so have little to compare to, but I hope that each and every one of you has some precious memory from the event to cherish for many years,” commented Dr. Joe Martin, Program Chair Student Life.
And this way, a beautiful interaction amongst the students of Dubai reached its logical conclusion. We cannot end this summary without mentioning the commendable effort and meticulous planning of congratulations, appreciation, and accolades go to the student organizers who worked tirelessly to make it all happen.Mar 2018
