Indian Institute of Information Technology, Lucknow

Indian Institute of Information Technology, Lucknow (IIIT Lucknow) is one of the 20 IIITs being set up by the Central Government in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. IIIT Lucknow admitted its first batch of B. Tech. in Information Technology with an intake of 50 students w.e.f. the academic session 2015-16.

Evolving a brand-name takes years of nurturing, hard work and passion. IIIT Lucknow, which started its journey in 2015, has brought in the culture of innovation among its students. These students have received training that is ‘deep in depth’, yet ‘wide in breadth’. Such training has moulded them into better qualified professionals.

The institute currently operates from IIIT Allahabad(the mentor institute) in Deoghat,Jhalwa Allahabad.It currently offers all the amenities ,academic and non-academic to its students that can help them flourish and serve the nation with all their apprehension in the various fields of technology. The admission is made through central counselling of candidates who qualify in JEE (Main).

The permanent campus of IIIT Lucknow is coming up in 50 acres of land at Chak Ganjaria Region,Gomti Nagar Extension, Lucknow. The Institute is being set up with the financial contributions of MHRD, Govt. of India, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, and U. P. Electronics Corporation Ltd. as industry partners.

The mission of IIIT Lucknow is to be a unique and world class nucleating "Apex Center of Excellence" in the area of Information Technology so as to enhance India's Technological strength in Information Technology . IIIT seeks to derive its strength from a linkage with sound Indian traditions of centuries past, and sets out to create knowledge-based resources in regional languages.

The permanent campus of IIIT, Lucknow is coming up in 50 acres of land at Chak Ganjaria Region, Lucknow. The Institute is being set up with the financial contributions of MHRD, Govt. of India, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, and U. P. Electronics Corporation Ltd. as industry partner.It is a couple of kilometers away from the International cricket stadium (along with many other sports facilities ) which is being set up in Gomti Nagar extension.

The institute is surrounded by a 100 Acre IT City SEZ Lucknow project which is being developed by HCL Group selected through a competitive bidding process envisages initial investment of approx. Rs 1500 crores.The IT city will provide direct employment to 25,000 with indirect employment to approx. 50,000 people.

Currently the classes are held at IIIT Allahabad, which is mentoring the institute.The present campus provided all the necessary facilities to its students like various sports amenities , a well furnished library with a very rich collection of books, fully air-conditioned classrooms and labs.

The health-centre is a 24x7 facility that is a big boon to students and their parents here.The lush green campus provides a serene beauty to relax one’s eyes.

Both the boys and girls hostels provide all the possible facilities like common halls,washing machines,Night canteens and what not making the life of students quite comfortable.

The library services in IIIT Lucknow are the core of academic services, and therefore, Central Library of the Institute finds a unique place in Academic Service centres. The IIIT Lucknow central library has a repository of more than 58000 books concerning various disciplines of study such as Pure and Applied Sciences, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Security, Bio-informatics, and Management Studies. As a time, it can accommodate up to 100 students.

A healthy mind resides in a healthy body. Thereby IIIT Lucknow provides an excellent physical activity infrastructure for its students to ensure that academic development is duly supplemented with sufficient physical development as wel.

A well maintained football ground with pavilion for spectators serve as a principal venue for most of the sports event organized by “spirit”- the sports club of IIIT Lucknow .A duly marked athletic track circumscribing the ground serves to provide for a safe track for not only the athletic events but for the morning joggers as well.
