Established in 1996, IIM Indore is the sixth in the family of state-supported management schools. Since its inception, IIM Indore has been acting as a leader in the field of management education, interfacing with the industry, government sector and PSUs. The pace of development in infrastructural facilities in IIM Indore has been phenomenal. The Institute has world class lecture theatres, well-equipped gymnasiums and extended sports facilities for more than 1500+ students, faculty and staff; and their families too. Below is a brief description of the various facilities at the Institute:

The classrooms at IIM Indore create an atmosphere that is conducive to learning and nurtures the quest for knowledge that the students possess. The lecture theatres/class rooms offer a linear seating arrangement whereas the MDP classrooms provide more flexibility with round tables which can be arranged in an ad-hoc fashion to facilitate more interaction among the participants. All classrooms are air-conditioned and equipped with all modern teaching aids.

The Institute also has two auditoriums, each having an amphitheater. The Auditorium-1 (old auditorium) has 300-seating capacity while Auditorium-2 (new auditorium) has 800-seating capacity, which is situated at the Sports Complex.

IIM Indore has a world class, campus-wide state-of-the-art information technology tools that are designed to meet the computing and communication needs of the Institute. IIM Indore has a fast, reliable and rugged computer network of more than 3800 Nodes. This network has gigabit fiber backbone connectivity to all the Blocks and Departments. All the hostels, Faculty Blocks, Administrative Block, Classrooms, the MDP Block, Library, Seminar Hall, Sports Complex etc. are connected through redundant gigabit fiber backbone. All the blocks are connected through layer 2 & 3 switches to provide connectivity at the user end. Every hostel room has a dedicated LAN connection on the Institute’s network to provide round the clock access to resources on the internet. Wireless network is also enabled in the Faculty Block, Library, Class Rooms, MDC, Hostel Blocks etc. Institute has 1 GBPS internet link from NIC under the National Knowledge Network project and 450 MBPS from BSNL.
