Institute of Advanced Research

Institute of Advanced Research, Gandhinagar is a teaching and research University established under the "Gujarat State Private Universities Amendment Act 2011" with an aim to create Excellence in Research and Education. The University has been set up by "The Puri Foundation for Education in India" - a registered charitable trust, based in Ahmedabad. It aims to provide infrastructure for research and education to prepare future researchers, academics, leaders and entrepreneurs in overall nation building.

Institute of Advanced Research, Gandhinagar is a young and growing University. We believe our students will follow the footsteps of three visionaries of our university, namely Prof. Nathu Ram Puri, Shri Narendra Modi, and Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who are always an inspiration to us. Our aim is to provide an excellent education through research in order to create researchers, academicians, leaders and entrepreneurs.

Our University uses different teaching and learning approaches such as the self-study course work, seminars and projects, to develop self-confidence, communication and leadership skills in all students. We also have tree planting, blood donation, cultural programs, leadership seminars, rural and industrial visits, and national integration tours to develop overall personality in our students. We provide scholarships for deserving students.

With excellent infrastructure and competent faculty, Institute of Advanced Research, Gandhinagar is an ideal place to plan and start a career in science, engineering, business, information technology, and humanities. • Institute of Advanced Research will carry out research in the frontier areas of science to contribute towards the advancement of human knowledge and alleviation of human suffering.

Mission:

• To conduct fundamental / applied / analytical research in the frontier areas of science with the ultimate objective of contributing to high quality basic research and human resource development, and to find application of the research results for the benefit of mankind.

Indoor and Outdoor sports facilities are available at IIAR. All students are encouraged to participate in games. Facilities exist for volleyball, cricket, football, athletics, badminton and table-tennis.

University organizes Annual Sports programmes. Teams within the university compete with each other. The winners are awarded prizes and medals at university function. Students also organise “Sabarmati Cup” a Cricket tournament at the campus where teams from university and nearby areas actively participate.

Students and staff prefer their own transport for commuting to the university. This helps them to manage their time schedule as per their requirements. University also provides Transport Facility for staff and students on chargeable basis. Arrangement is made with service provider to pick up and drop at fixed times from Ahmedabad.
