The Intercultural School of Bogor was originally founded in 1974 as the Bogor Expatriate School (BES) to educate children of the international community. Thanks to new regulations, in 1998 we opened our doors to Indonesian families and changed our name to reflect the truly multicultural learning environment that we provide.
ISB became a member of the East Asian Regional Conference of Schools (EARCOS) in 1976 and in the same year was registered as a Yayasan. As a non-profit organization, the school is governed and administered by a 3-tier board of directors consisting of present and past members of the school community, thereby ensuring that the interests of the children and the school are always at the forefront of the agenda.
The Board is charged with the responsibility of governing the school and appointing the Head of School, while the Head of School manages the day to day running of the school and hires and leads the school staff. The Intercultural School of Bogor strives to inspire passion for learning and prepares students to be open-minded, compassionate, and innovative citizens in a global community.
The Intercultural School of Bogor will be the school of educational excellence in a supportive community of students thriving as responsible citizens in evolving world. ISB prides itself on being the one true international school in Bogor because we have a highly qualified international teacher in every classroom. All teachers have been selected for their high level teaching skills and wide range of experience in many different countries. Our teachers are leaders who regularly run professional development activities for other international and host country teachers both in this region and abroad. Your children are in safe and able hands.
We have a truly international community with up to 20 different nationalities in our classes. Our balance of local Indonesian students with our international students means everyone is exposed to a wide range of beliefs, customs and languages. Our curriculum is also a deliberate mix of English speaking curricula from around the world all integrated under the umbrella of IPC. English is also the language you will hear in our playground.

As a neighbor and volunteer board member for ISB for more than 20 years, I have witnessed ISB's efforts of bringing International and Indonesian community together to educate children and each other. Our ISB alumni have gone on to be global scholars, celebrities in the arts, leaders, business owners, and scientists. ISB is an amazing school with hardworking, diligent and inspirational teachers. The students who attend this school academically gifted and talented. It is a very diverse environment and state of the art education. My cousin attends this school and adores his class! 5/5 stars from me :)
