Juniors Nursery aims to provide high quality care and education for children and a secure foundation for learning in an encouraging and nurturing environment, where there is an equality of opportunity and support for all and where staff and parents or carers work in close partnership.
At Juniors Nursery we put the needs of your children first. We work in partnership with you to give the best care and education to your child. This is a very important stage as it helps your child get ready for school as well as preparing them for their future learning and successes. From when your child is born up until the age of 5, their early years experience should be happy, active, exciting, fun and secure; and support their development, care and learning needs. Your child will be learning skills, acquiring new knowledge and demonstrating their understanding through 7 areas of learning and development.
You’ve raised your child from infancy, now it’s time to share the load. You don’t have to do everything yourself, and accepting professional help is one of the most responsible choices you can make. Juniors Nursery broadens your child’s horizons and gives you all the time you need. Whether it’s a few afternoons off a week to recharge or enough time to pursue a career and support your family, we’ll provide flexible and
dependable care for your child.
Despite the heart palpitations many parents face when confronted with the words ‘messy play’ we know a wide range of these sensory experiences make an enormous contribution to babies and young children’s cognitive and creative development but don’t worry…we’ve got it covered! Messy play helps children in so many ways, be that to relax, express their feelings, experiment with different materials, learn about texture and develop hand-eye coordination or practice the skills of pouring, measuring and mixing. Ultimately our experience has taught us that children love getting their hands dirty while exploring the world around them.
Providing children with a fantastic opportunity to learn about healthy and delicious food. Learning about different food groups, how to cook and different foods taste, look and feel like are an important part of encouraging children to adopt a healthy attitude towards meal time.
Newborns learn through the touch of their mother’s skin developing until as pre-schoolers they are making use of all their five senses. As children grow, different textures become highly interesting. That’s why we makes sure that our babies and toddlers have access to various fabric textures like fur, silk, leather, velvet, chamois, foam rubber and netting allowing them to explore their sense of touch.
Unlike adult eyes which can distinguish millions of different shades of light and colour, baby's eyes can only detect large contrasts between light and dark, or black and white, so in each of our nurseries you’ll find special areas with visual stimulation for your babies specifically in mind.
The outdoors offers all sorts of wonderful possibilities for play and development, allowing children to make the most of natural resources and work on a bigger scale than indoors. In our gardens we promote the growing and nurturing of plants and vegetables, digging in sand and soil, the use of mud and imagination, splashing in puddles and exploring water sources. Music and movement sessions offer a fun and interactive physical workout for babies and toddlers incorporating music, bubbles and lights so even our youngest babies can join.
The outdoor areas have a wealth of resources which help children to develop in a variety of ways, including independence, exploration and investigative skills, risk taking and self-esteem all of which support children to develop skills for now and the future. Outside has a higher concentration of oxygen in the air, 25% more than indoors even with all windows and doors open. Oxygen is vital for cells to respire in the body, but particularly for brain function to aid the process of learning so encouraging children to be active outdoors is vital for their health and well-being. Children need regular access to outdoor play in order to develop their large and small muscles, experience an environment that is different to the inside of the nursery and more importantly access sunlight in order to absorb vitamin D more effectively.
