Founded in 1969 Kazan State Institute of Culture (KazGIK) is a top-ranked arts and culture institution in Volga region of the Russian Federation. In 2002 it officially became Kazan State University of Culture and Arts. As of 25 June 2015 it gained the status of Kazan State Institute of Culture. It is a dynamically developing leading regional centre of culture, science, education and art. It combines deep special knowledge with a fundamental classical base and new educational technologies. Kazan State Institute of Culture has a good rating among Russian institutes of higher education due to a high level of scientific work and innovation courses’ development. KazGIK is represented by more than 190 teachers, including 40 professors and Doctors of Science, 107 senior lecturers. About 70 professors and lecturers of the institute have honorary titles of Tatarstan Republic and the Russian Federation, among them there are winners of the state awards of the Russian Federation and Tatarstan Republic or International competitions’ laureats.

Our international students actively participate in the work of International Student Association of the Republic of Tatarstan. Every year we celebrate International Students Day and organize different cultural events and concerts. As of 2016-2017 academic year there are about 80 undergraduate and postgraduate international students from Columbia, China, Vietnam, Turkmenistan, Latvia, Chad, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Guatemala, Abkhazia, Syria, Palestine.

Participating in festivals and conferences is another opportunity to improve professional skills for students. KazGIK organizes about 15 annual festivals per year. Students become winners of contests and international festivals all over Russia and the world. KazGIK celebrates cultural diversity and intercultural understanding. Students from different socio-economic, ethnic and geographic backgrounds come to KazGIK across the globe. In addition to learning from one another, students are encouraged to participate in international exchange programs available through Russia and Tatarstan’s study abroad programs, helping them learn a foreign language and deepening their appreciation of global diversity.

Nowadays Kazan State Institute of Culture is a dynamically developing leading regional centre of culture, science, education and arts. It combines deep special knowledge with a fundamental classical base and new educational technologies. KazGIK is a progressively developing institute of higher education, which easily adapts to modern social and economical and social and political conditions, playing a more active integrative role in regional, federal and international educational space.
