Keimyung University was founded in 1954 by Reverend Edward Adams, an American missionary of the Northern Presbyterian Church of the United States, and by Reverends Choi Jaehwa and Kang Ingu, two local Presbyterian Church leaders. The founding principle guiding their concerted efforts was to provide Koreans with higher education firmly anchored in Christianity. The opening of the university also reflected the perceived need for higher education as a vehicle with which to reconstruct the war-ravaged nation and a means of perpetuating the time-honored spirit of the Korean people.
Keimyung University (KMU) is a private university in South Korea. Its motto is 'For the Kingdom of Truth, Justice and Love'. KMU is composed of three campuses in the city of Daegu, South Korea. They are named for their locations within the city; Daemyeong, which is near the downtown area, Seongseo, which is in the western part of the city, and also Dongsan campus which includes Dongsan Medical Center.
The founding principle guiding their concerted efforts was to provide Koreans with higher education firmly anchored in Christianity. 1978, the year of Keimyung's elevation to the status of a university, marked the beginning of a new period of rapid development. In October 1980, the university merged with the Dongsan Presbyterian Hospital, a prestigious local hospital with 81-year history of service, and re-opened it as Keimyung University Medical Center. The development of Keimyung acquired a new dimension in the early 1980s when it added a new campus built on 550,000 pyeong (181,500 sq. meters) at Seongseo in Sindang-dong, Dalseo-gu, to its existing Daemyeong and Dongsan campuses.
Many difficulties lie ahead of you, including very hard class work at the university and the economic recession outside. But you will never to neglect the will to strive for the best and, perhaps more importantly, never to be afraid of failure. A failure in the process of pursuing one’s goal with a brave and pioneering spirit is something that only the young are entitled to. In addition, Keimyung offers a variety of programs to help you successfully tackle the obstacles. Keimyung’s government-sponsored projects and specialized education programs will help you pursue your dreams. Keimyung’s overseas outreach programs and other initiatives will serve as catalysts in your development as global citizens. Do not fear uncertainty and new adventures and actively participate in those programs to turn your difficulties into opportunities.
Keimyung University achieved a great deal last year. Students of the Engineering College won perhaps one of the most prestigious self-driving vehicle competitions in Korea and nearly 100% of the students of the Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing passed the national qualification examinations. The students of the Department of Sino-Korean Literature Education who passed the national teacher qualification examination accounted for 30% of all the successful candidates in the field in entire Korea. Moreover, students of the College of Music and Performing Arts successfully ventured into the international arena, winning prestigious contests in music, fashion and the arts. This clearly demonstrates your unlimited potential and confirms that we are progressing in the right direction with the right sense of purpose.

Keimyung University is the most beautiful campus in Daegu. The cherry blossoms bloom beautifully in spring and the maple trees are beautiful in autumn. It is good that there are many cheap and delicious stars around. To get to Keimyung University, take metro line 2 and get off at Keimyung University Station.

By insisting on a brick building, the overall image of a unified, old school building is maintained. The landscaping of the entire campus was also carefully designed, making it one of the most beautiful schools in Korea. You can always see people taking pictures of the cherry blossom road in spring and the metasequoia road in fall. The overall appearance is similar to an American university, so it is also well-known as a filming location for movies and dramas. In addition, there is a Hanhak village on campus, and it is included in Daegu's city tour course.

At Keimyung University, which is known for its beautiful campus, I took pictures of fall before it approaches.
The weather is nice today, so the photos come out well.

The school is the most beautiful in Daegu and famous for the drama "Boys Over Flowers". In the spring, it is a place where families visit a lot to see cherry blossoms.

Keimyoung University is by far my favorite university to visit. I love the brick buildings, how the mountains surround the campus, the various paths that you can find and take; then there is the replica of the older school. There are many international students studying here. The sports field is also quite nice. You can book the field if you want to play soccer or for other events as well. I love walking through this campus during the summer to smell the cedat trees.
