Welcome you to Kemnal Technology Community College. Our key philosophy has always been to do the best for the students, raising aspirations and giving them the tools to be successful.

KTC has a dedicated and determined staff, who work together, firmly committed to improving the life chances of our young people.

We have approximately 600 students on roll and have the highest expectations that each and every child will achieve personal and academic success. We also support every student to contribute actively and positively to the college and the community which we serve. Our ambition for the school working alongside Ms Wride is that the school grows in the community and gives every young person it serves outstanding opportunities and results.

We believe that everything we do is for our students. Our curriculum is student-centred and we aim for education to be growing hearts and inspiring minds. Our staff are appointed for their passion, their enthusiasm and their imagination in communicating with students to ensure that every single child in their classes is engaged, excited and challenged by the learning experience at all times.

Learning does not stop at the classroom door. We are fortunate that all departments of the College are involved in running extra-curricular clubs for students. This has a massive impact on engaging students in subjects as well as giving students the confidence to grow.

We believe in high standards and there are no exceptions, in particular with regards to behaviour.believe that every child has the right to an education that is excellent and delivered by teachers who care.

Our vision is to empower students so that they are able to take control of their own future and have enhanced life chances as a result of learning with us. Together with your help and support, we will ensure that every child has the education they deserve.

Ethos & Values
Our educational philosophy is focused around the values we want all our students to acquire before taking their place in the adult world. This is why we strive for:

  • Students who are ambitious for themselves. Dreams are achievable and goals can be reached by focusing on the present.
  • Students who are resilient. Learning is a voyage into the unknown and students need to have the confidence to learn from these experiences.
  • Students who are considerate to all. Success comes through teamwork and through recognition of other people’s talents.

British Values
The Government emphasises that schools are required to ensure that key ‘British Values’ are taught in all UK schools.  The government set out its definition of British values in the 2011 Prevent Strategy.

Kemnal Technology is committed to actively promoting British Values throughout the curriculum. We understand British values to mean democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

Our students are encouraged to:

  • Understand how citizens can influence decision-making through the democratic process
  • Understand that the freedom to hold other faiths and beliefs is protected by law
  • Have an acceptance that people have different faiths or beliefs from oneself (or have none)
  • Be accepting and tolerating of others, and should not be the cause of prejudicial or discriminatory behaviour
  • Understand the importance of identifying and combatting discrimination

We actively promote these values through our:

  • School Ethos 'We are an Ambitious, Resilient and Considerate'
  • Assemblies
  • Student Voice Activities e.g School Council
  • Enrichment activities and clubs
  • Sporting events
  • Educational visits and learning outside the classroom
