Our primary aim is to ensure the very best teaching, learning and achievement for all pupils through an academically challenging and creative curriculum. We celebrate each child as an individual, enabling them to nurture their talents as well as support them to be culturally knowledgeable about our community, country and world.

We are proud of the rich diversity of our community and aim to provide a stimulating, relevant curriculum that develops each child whilst ensuring equality for all. We challenge all forms of discrimination and unconscious bias by providing a curriculum that is relevant to the backgrounds of all our pupils. We place a high importance and promote the love of reading so that pupils become articulate communicators and readers for life.

Our school is a happy school because the children feel safe and secure. They are cared for by a committed, caring and skilled staff and we pride ourselves on creating an environment where pupils can express themselves. We are pleased that Ofsted recognises our ethos as such a major strength and have identified that at the heart of our school there are ‘very warm relationships in all classes’ which ‘encourage and develop pupils’ confidence and enjoyment of learning’.

We look forward to our continuing partnership with parents, pupils and the wider community to build on our strengths and ensure the best possible education for all our children.

We believe in education and learning that is stimulating, liberating and enriching and that helps develop minds that are alive to the diversity of human thought and achievement and to the richness of the natural world.

  • Confident: Academically, as a learner and in their identity.
  • Curious: Of the world and people around them, and able to think critically.
  • Caring: Of the world and people in it, and of themselves.
