Kwun Tong Methodist Kindergarten

Kwun Tong Methodist Kindergarten is where children learn faith, hope and love, and to follow the way of our Lord, Jesus Christ. We provide a learning environment full of happiness and creativity and we encourage children to learn proactively. Teachers, children and parents build up trust and respect with each other.

Guided by the school education mission of the Methodist Church- Develop whole-person education based on Christian principles, Nurture wholesome life through preaching of the gospel.

On the basis of the teachings of the Bible, we aim to help children grasp the full meaning of Christ's love, develop positive value and attitude, and lead a fruitful life. We are also devoted to promoting their spiritual, moral, intellectual, physical, social and aesthetic growth in a balanced way as well as building their self- acceptance and confidence.

In addition, we strive to develop their potentials to the fullest, as well as their ability of independent thinking and self-correction, eagerness to seek the truth and knowledge.

We hope to nurture them to be responsible citizens who love their family, care for the community and the environment, and will make contributions to society in future.

We understand the importance of developing potentials and capabilities from early childhood. Therefore, every Wednesdays is set as 'Multiple Intelligences Day' which is a systematic creative syllabus for all children in our school. Various Multiple Intelligences groups are designed and taught by professional trainers from outside and our teachers, in the hope of building on children's strongest assets and helping them become more intelligent by exposing them to a variety of ways of learning. The activities and interest groups are adjusted from time to time according to their interests and needs.

Life education is the combination of religion education, moral education and civic education, which helps students, parents and teachers to develop mutual respect and a harmonious relationship among themselves, others, the environment and the universe. Through Life Education, we try to guide them to appreciate life and respect life, and know that life is precious and should be cherished. Further, they will love learning, love their family and love their future career, and hence, live an abundant life.

Everyday before the start of lessons, the whole school will sing, dance and pray together during morning assembly or afternoon assembly. Children can learn how to care about other people and things through news sharing. At the same time, they can have a great start of school day with a joyful heart. In addition, children’s worships are held every month and they have a time of worship, prayer, and a message is shared to help teach the children Biblical truths.

Various activities are held to help spread the message of loving their family and caring about others. Through the worship of Harvest Thanksgiving, children not only can learn to thank God for everything they possess, but also learn to donate food to the Food Bank to give a helping hand to families in need in the community. As well, “Sharing Resources Campaign” is carried out to teach children to love other people and share willingly. To put into practice, children have the opportunity to join different community activities, such as, performance and community visiting.
