The Kyiv National Economic University , named after Vadym Hetman, is a higher educational institution in Kiev, Ukraine, and a self-governing (autonomous) research National University.The university was founded in 1906.The main building is located on Victory Avenue, 54/1. Its estimated quality of education and researches puts the university on the third place in National ranking of the universities in Ukraine.According to one of the leading university rankings in the world (Eduniversal, 2015), KNEU occupied the second position among universities in Ukraine.

Sometimes, the history is about personalities — prominent and charismatic personalities, whose biographies paint a picture of life in an organisation or a country. However, the history is also about buildings. Let us have a look at the buildings occupied by our Economics University during its more than one hundred years of existence.

The Kyiv National Economic University is the largest economic educational institution in Ukraine, recognized in our country and the world as a center of training of economists, lawyers, and managers. It is the self-governing (autonomous) research national university. The area of the university is 118,765 m² or 9.4 m² per student. Classroom foundation includes audiences for lectures, rooms for seminars and workshops, computer classes and more. The total area of fund classroom is 14,332.7 m². The university also has 6709 m² gyms area and own the stadium and 6 hostels. The number of students in Kyiv National Economic University is approximately 15 000

Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman is focused on participation in international researches and education, and therefore endeavours to maintain its relations with other countries. At the University international activity is coordinated by the Center of International Academic mobility (CIAM). Established in 1998 as a Centre of International Relations, the Center was renamed as the Centre of International Academic Mobility in 2015.

CIAM is a structural subdivision of the University, which carries out the planning, organization and monitoring of the international academic relations between the KNEU and foreign higher education establishments, research institutions, organizations, foundations, institutions, grant makers and businesses.

It is the University's Mission to contribute to the development of the society by means of the scientific research, the generation and the dissemination of the new knowledge, and the training of competitive specialists and creative personalities.

More than 36,000 students study in KNEU.Only in the main institution, they are taught by:

  • 8 full and corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and sectoral academies
  • more than 127 professors and doctors of science
  • 507 candidates of science and associate professors.

Achievements:

  • University Innovative Development Programme for Years 2011 and 2012
  • The accession to the Magna Charta Universitatum
  • The establishment and successful operation of 13 research institutes
  • The establishment of new educational and training centres
  • The library with 1,317,645 items, including educational, scientific, popular science, reference, information and bibliography publications in the Ukrainian and other languages;
  • In year 2010, the University's publishing office published 9 textbooks approved by the Ministry of Education and Science, 33 workbooks, including 26 approved by the Ministry of Education and Science, and 11 study guides, including 10 approved by the Ministry of Education and Science, and 16 monographs;
  • New forms of the intensification of the learning process in the course of lectures and the standalone work of students are being implemented.
  • The Web-CT remote study system operates successfully with 150 disciplines developed and used in its environment.
  • The Perspektyva Employer Relations and Students Job Placement Centre is operating successfully.
  • The Institutional Repository (IRKNEU) has been put in operation.
    The management of the university and its assets has been automated.

I was there in KNEU for a week for a study trip arranged by Adamas University and KNEU jointly. I liked the environment of KNEU and the hospitality, behavior, teaching style and lectures of the Professors. KNEU is best in class University. :) I feel lucky to be there.
