Registration is the first step in the enrolment process.
You will be asked to nominate:
After your registration has been processed, a letter of acknowledgment is sent from the College. Registration is not a guarantee of a place, but it is usually possible for the school to give an idea of the likelihood of when the confirmation will occur.
The offer of a place at Newington College is dependent upon the initial date of receipt of Registration.
Boys and their families are interviewed as part of the enrolment process for available places. But this is also your opportunity to interview us and ask us any questions you might have about the day-to-day activities your son will undertake at Newington. You will also learn about your own opportunities to meet other families and Newington’s many community initiatives.
The interview is our chance to begin to know your son on a really personal level – something that is very important to us and will be a significant part of our commitment. We want to really know him so that he can make the most of his time with us, enjoy College life and achieve his personal best. To ensure that we can give the best advice possible to parents about the suitability of our academic courses to your son’s interests and aptitudes, all boys are assessed by the College prior to enrolment.
For ELC enrolment in the 3-year-old program, your child must turn three years of age before 31 January in the calendar year of commencement. A two, three or five-day program is offered. Preference will be given to children seeking admission to the five-day program.
For ELC enrolment in the 4-year-old program, your child must turn four years of age before 31 January in the calendar year of commencement. Only a five-day program is offered.
Boys starting in Kindergarten and beyond should turn five years of age before 31 January in the calendar year of commencement.
Please note: When boys are enrolled in the ELC, they are enrolled at Newington College. Girls are only enrolled in the ELC for the 3-year-old and/or 4-year-old program in the years before they commence formal schooling elsewhere.

Admissions Policy for Old Boys
This policy was effective from the start of Term 1, 2015 and we encourage all Old Boys to register their child or grandchild as soon as possible to secure a priority placement on our year lists.
Due to the consistently high demand for places, the College Council endorsed a new Admissions Policy in 2014 to formalise priority status for Old Boys.
The Council has confirmed its commitment to prioritising registrations of children and grandchildren of Old Boys, as long as registrations are received in accordance with the following:
