Admission Policy Guidelines

Admission is based on first-come-first-served. Priority admission is offered to siblings of all students, including the students of determination. Admission is not conditional on a medical diagnosis. Reports are requested from families to extend the best support in the holistic learning journey of every student at Bright Riders School. In case of availability of limited spaces, highest priority is given to the siblings of students of determination for admission.

To ensure a productive learning experience for all students at the school, including those with special needs, it is essential that the school and the families work in partnership. This is defined by certain expectations from both parties to set the condition for a successful identification and support mechanism for the students. As a specified guideline defined in KHDA School contract, families are expected to provide the school with copies of all medical, psychological or Bright Riders School Dubai Admission Policy 4 | Page educational assessments or reports before entry to the school. Such materials are a prerequisite in enabling us to provide the best education for your child.

INCLUSION IN ADMISSIONS:

Admission Policy for SOD:

Student of Determination –Student of determination is defined as a student with a long-term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory impairment; which, interaction with various barriers which may create a barrier to their full and effective participation in education on an equal basis with those of other peers of the same age.

As per guidelines SOD are those who have a learning difficulty or disability that needs support of special educational provision, where they demonstrate following support for:

  • A significantly greater difficulty in learning than the majority of others of the same age, or have additional needs that hinders their participation to the fullest and from making use of facilities of a kind generally provided for others of the same age
  • Significantly greater need for accelerated learning or students who are English language learners who may need extra support BRS is fully compliant with the regulations stated in the Federal Law 29 (UAE) and the Dubai Inclusion policy (2017),

Students of Determination are not refused admissions based on their experience of extra support,additional needs or special educational provision.

All applicants seeking admissions have right to sit for admission and undergo entry assessments test as baseline of their levels.

All applicants are fairly assessed based on their strengths,interest and abilities

Provisions will be made to ensure that barriers are reduced or removed during assessment for applicants experiencing SEND.

Students who experience SEND will receive sibling priority subject to availibility of spaces.

Provision of LSA /support in form of therapies depending on child’s needs and readiness to be included in the main-stream school

Documents for Admission

A copy of the following is required for admission:

  • Passport for child and both parents (Inside pages front and back)
  • UAE Residence visa page for child and both parents (Valid)
  • Emirates ID copy for child and both parents (both sides)
  • Vaccination or Immunization schedule for child
  • Birth Certificate for child (with attestation page)
  • Academic mark sheet or Term report for recent and/or previous Grade
  • Transfer / Leaving Certificate in Original for Grades 2 & above (duly attested)
  • KHDA/MOE Student leaving certificate for students previously enrolled in UAE Schools.
  • Passport size photographs for child, preferably in white background and 1 passport size
  • photograph for both parents in JPEG format
  • Assessment Test Report or Medical Reports (optional) for Inclusion students, if necessary

Procedure for Admission:

A child’s application is considered eligible as per age criteria defined by The UAE Federal law and KHDA guidelines for Indian Curriculum Schools starting their academic session in April. Families are most welcome to tour the School campus within operational hours.

Every applicant is required to appear for an Interactive or Observation Screening session in Kindergarten / Written assessment in Higher Grades for admission. The observations during interaction / assessment enables the School to understand the child’s academic and overall interests. The School will strive to work towards nurturing them to their next levels.

An Admission offer specifying the fee details is emailed to families by the Admissions office. To secure the offered place, families are required to proceed for submission of documents at Admissions office and complete the School fee payment for initial deposit at Accounts office within 10 working days of the receipt of Admission offer (as defined by KHDA School fee framework).

In the unlikely event of an admission cancellation, the School will process the fee refund based on KHDA fee framework guidelines.

School fee payment

  • School fee (tuition and transportation) is payable through Online Parent portal (Card payment accepted) or Online Bank transfer in favor of BRIGHT RIDERS SCHOOL OPC LLC

Admission Process

  • Step 1 – Enquiry from a prospective family through call, email, walk-ins, website
  • Step 2 – Welcome email from Admissions office
  • Step 3 – Invitation for a scheduled School tour and interaction and diagnostic assessment for the child
  • Step 4 – School tour and meeting with Leadership or Academic team
  • Step 5 – Admission offer through an email within the next working day
  • Step 6 – Submission of documentation at Admission office and payment of School fees at Accounts office within 10 days of the admission offer, subject to seat availability for the offered Grade at the time of admission
  • Step 7 – Fee receipt with an admission number for child confirms the child’s place at Bright Riders School for the joining Academic year.

Requested documents during admission

Families are required to submit a copy of the following documents at the Admissions Office for child’s admission

  • Passport Copy of child and both parents (Inside pages front and back)
  • UAE Residence visa page of the child and both parents (Valid)
  • Emirates ID copy of the child and both parents (Both sides)
  • Vaccination or Immunization schedule of the child
  • Birth Certificate of child
  • Academic mark sheet or Term report for recent and previous Grades if attended a School / Nursery
  • Transfer Certificate in Original for admission in Grade 1 & above (attested)- District Education officer in India, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dubai and Indian Consulate in Dubai
  • Passport size photographs of the child, preferably in white background (6) and 2 passport size photos of both parents

WITHDRAWAL

  • Parents must inform the school admissions department in writing if intending to withdraw child(ren). Leaving documents (Transfer Certificate) will be given on the last day of attendance, if a minimum of ten working days’ notice has been given.
  • In order to comply with KHDA guidelines and government rules, the Bright Riders School must be informed of the next School name in Dubai to get the transfer processed through the KHDA School portal.
  • For students seeking Emirate transfer (rest of UAE) or GCC country, the next Emirate name or Country name should be specified. The school will hand over a KHDA approved transfer certificate in both Arabic and English.
  • For students seeking International Transfer, the next Country name should be specified. The school will hand over a KHDA approved transfer certificate in English. Parents are requested to adhere to the attestation requirements for the next School/Country at their own expense.
  • The Transfer certificate will not be issued until all dues at Bright Riders School are settled including transportation fees for the Academic year.
